The company produced rifles under various names including Winchester repeating arms company (Winchester), Savage Sportsman (Savage), Colt American Armory (Colt) cartridge pistols (Model 1911), Army surplus stock product No 2 Pistol (ASHP2), Navy surplus stock product No 1 Pistol (NSSP1), and USMC surplus stock product No 3 Pistol (.30 caliber). Jesup is a small town in northeast Georgia that has been known for its apples since the early 1800s. The town was founded by John Jesup, who emigrated to Georgia from England in 1795. John and his family grew apples and other fruits in their farmstead until 1814, when they moved to nearby Milledgeville. In 1821, the Jesups sold their land to John's son James, which led to the town's name change from Jesup to Jesup Station. The main industry in Jesup during the late 1800s was farming, but as production dwindled so did population size. Today, residents of Jesup are primarily engaged in commerce and agriculture. The first settlers in what is now Jesup were farmers who arrived around 1700. After some time they decided to move eastward because of the lack of good farmland there. In 1795, JohnJesup immigrated to what is now Northeast Georgia with his wife Sarah and two children: James and Huntley Jr.. They settled on an acre of land near present-day Milledgeville where they started growing apples. By 1814, the Jesups had acquired additional land and started raising grapes as well; however this crop failed due to unfavorable weather conditions at that time. James Jessep Sr.'s death left his son James Jr., who continued farming until 1840 when he became a Postmaster at Milledgeville; he also ran a store here for several years before moving on into real estate development later on in life. In 1881 JSJr married Martha Addams (born about 1792) from Decatur County; they raised two daughters here before eventually selling the property back to James Sr.'s widow Martha after her death in 1912 ADVERTISEMENT . A few years earlier than that – on July 1st Commissioners Court ordered Amos Baldwin (a white man) listed as one of three landowners whose lots lay within “Milledgeville” boundaries – thereby giving rise theretofore unsuspected status among non-native Georgians not just because many had never heard of it but also because no deed or map existed documenting it! All three men must then have bought out any previous occupants! Eventually four more Baldwin brothers would relocate here: Samuel (1839-1915), David (1859-1933), Clarence (1883-1951), and Aubrey(1894-1967). Of these only Clarence remained active through all those years until his death… When looking back over our long history we realize how important little things like this really were! The town is first mentioned in 1765 as "Emmet's Creek". It was established by General James Oglethorpe and Colonel John Jesup. The first post office was opened in 1847, and the first store was built in 1848. Jesup has been served by a school, a Baptist church, and two hospitals since it was granted town status in 1917. In 1940, Jesse upsted an advertising campaign to get more people to move into the area because of its potential for defense reasons during World War II. Jesup had three stores when it became part of Rome on December 1st 1947- one being operated by Fenton Publishing which published books about farming and rural life back then Fenton died after years of service to the community on October 24th 2017 . His widow Mrs Fenton continued operations until her death on November 3rd 2018 . Today’s store is run by their children with Mrs Fenton’s help
