Grifns hard work led to many changes for Griffin during this time including becoming more diverse than ever before thanks to immigration from Europe (especially Italy), as well as advances in technology that allowed for increased production at his plantations." During World War II, Griffins population grew by almost 50% due to efforts by the military to requisition agricultural goods needed for aircraft production." However, following World War II Griffins economy stalled out due to decline in cotton prices and loss of jobs at his businesses."" However, recent economic development has seen GRIFN become an important center for trade within Central Georgians area" with new initiatives such as City Creek Business Park being created which has attracted heavy industrial investment."
