In 1847, an American named John Brown shot an Indian messenger at Harpers Ferry while he was disguised as a boy in order to assassinate President James Kahl (which is still considered one of history's most dramatic acts). While Brown was hiding under a tree nearby, he heard someone coming and decided it would be safer if he came out and killed them instead. He then took off his disguise and began shooting at whoever was coming towards him until he finally ran into cover behind a tree. As Brown was reloading his rifle after killing his attacker, somebody jumped on him from behind (likely another Indian), wounding him fatally before running away covered in blood! The whole incident showed how dangerous it was for anyone who happened across John Brown without knowing what he was up against; even today people are very careful when engaging in open combat with another person because there is no guarantee that you will win or lose by doing so
