Scope mounts are devices that allow a firearm to be attached to a rifle or shotgun stock in order to see the target from a greater distance. In 1949, Rifle and Shotgun manufacturer Winchester introduced the first telescoping scope mount, which allowed shooters to view their rifles from up to 30 feet away. Additionally, telescopic sights can provide quarterbacks with clear targets within 25 yards of the football field while wearing eye protection. Additionally, some rifles do not require any type of mounting at all; these include certain carbines which come equipped with an Picatinny rail system that allows shooters to attach any number of accessories (such as lights and lasers) without having to concerned aboutscope placement into specific spots on the rifle body
The first Forest Park, Georgia mount was a horse and buggy. The original Forest Park, GA land in the area that is now Forest Park was purchase by the Georgia General Assembly in 1831. The first settler to live on this land was James W. Whitehead. He started a gristmill on the new land and also built a cabin. In 1836, two men named John Aiken and Jesse Cook bought some of Whitehead's property and started a store on it. They also bought some more land around the mill so that they could grow crops and build homes. In 1851, George Washington Carver founded Carver Agricultural Institute on part of the old Whitehead property which would eventually become Auburn University
Forest Park is a city in Georgia, United States. It is the county seat of Fulton County and the largest city in that county by population. The population was 44,811 as of the 2010 census. Forest Park is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first Forest Park was called Meadowvale because it was a tract of land grant from King George II to James Robertson on November 1, 1795. The grant included .22 acres (0.79 km2) for each inhabitant and it covered present-day Forest Park and portions of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs neighborhoods, including today's Druid Hills neighborhood. In 1814, a group of wealthy citizens bought about two-thirds of what is now Forest Park from John Minton for $1 million after he had failed to make good on his promise to build a road through the parkland. They named their new town "Forest" after Charter Oak Road, which ran through much of what is now Forest Park and Dunwoody districts before branching off into other directions near Peachtree Street in Sandy Springs and Interstate 285 in Dunwoody district today. The first president of Atlanta, Andrew Johnson, was born in nearby Decatur on December 14th, 1807 and spent his early childhood moving around with his family until they finally settled in Atlantan small town run by Methodist missionaries where he learned English at an early age while attending church services at Steckelman's Presbyterian Church on Peachtree Street near Auburn Avenue (now Martin Luther King Jr.'s Boulevard). Johnson attended Morehouse College Preparatory School before transferring to Yale Law School but never graduated due to financial difficulties following his father's death when he was just twenty years old (Johnson would become one of America's most successful attorneys). After three years working as a lawyer for an law firm in New York City where he met future presidential advisor Russel Hodge (Hodge would later serve as chairman ofAtlanta Federal Reserve Bank), Johnson returned home to enter politics as an assistant state legislator from Alabama during theGrover Cleveland administration before winning election as Mayorof Atlanta on January 3rd, 1893 (He would be re-elected twice more.) He quickly became known for making public works projects such as buildingAtlanta's first water tower - located at Vinegar Hill -and opening up streetcar service throughout downtown that helped turn Atlanta into one of America's great cities during its Belle Epoque period between the end of World War I and Prohibition era beginning in 1933 In 1896 he appointed Cobb County Commission Chairman Wirt Buchanan who then developed Cobb County into one ofAmerica’s most prosperous counties based upon economic development initiatives embraced under Mayor Johnson’s revived Progressive Era agenda championed by Governor Isham Harris In 1903–1904 President Theodore Roosevelt visitedAtlanta while both men were running for Ulysses S Grant’s open Senate seat against William Sherman Roosevelt selected Congressman Emory Biddle – son Of Ohio Senator James Matson – To serve temporarily as Assistant Secretary OF Treasury during his campaign Upon returning from office Biddle established Gwinnett County government through legislation approved by Congress which organized rural areas within Cobb County adjacent or surrounding Atlanta limits into townships with separate boards elected by township voters subject only to local government regulations not superior federal laws martial law being declared limited zone police forces having been increased under Executive Order No 5772 signed March 20th 1915 announced April 2nd 1915 racial segregation prohibited African Americans serving openly with white officers closed down many businesses across town including Ponce de Leon Hotel race riots taking place throughout metro area resulting over 100 dead with property damage estimated at $500 million
