The history of Forest Park, Georgia holster can traced back to the 1800s. The first holster was made by a man named John Gant who located in what is now Forest Park. In 1825, General James Wilkinson purchased 1,000 acres of land in Forest Park and began construction on his Camp Wilkinson which served as the nucleus for what would become Forest Park. In 1868, Major General George Custer died at Fort McPherson and was buried in nearby Forrest Park Cemetery. A large crowd gathered to pay their respects and many of his belongings were taken with him including his revolver, knife, belt knife and pistols. His remains are still interred there today. Forest Park was originally built as a military reservation where soldiers could exercise and hunt without fear of reprisal from Native Americans. After World War II ended, the area became home to civilians once again. Many businesses were opened up in the park including a movie theater, golf course and grocery store among others. However, it wasn’t until the late 1990s that things really started to change with the establishment of ForestPark Sheriff’s Office Headquarters Complex which is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in town. During his speech, Wilson touted Atlantans' progress since their incorporation into America as he lauded Georgia for its role in this progress – something that would not be possible without Forests Park's contributions over the years!

In 1865, General Robert Ewell donated 5,000 acres of land to the state of Georgia for use as a park system. In 1886, Forrest Gump opened his amusement park here and began developing it into what is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Georgia. Forrest Gump remains an important figure in Forest Park history and its economy today.
