Many changes took place within Colt Manufacturing Company during this time including the divestiture of many gun businesses across America resulting in many layoffs for both employees and customers alike. However, through it all, TheGunShop continued to be one ofAtlanta’s leading firearms retailers with a strong presence throughout town until it closed its doors permanently in 1984 after more than 40 years in business! Today, there are still several remnant portions of what once was TheGunShop located inside various gun stores across metro Atlanta as well as online retailer Amazon (.com) having purchased assets from original proprietor John Prentice back when he still operated his store!

Forest Park is a small city located in the state of Georgia. The population was 5,831 at the 2010 census. Forest Park is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It is bordered by Druid Hills to the north, Midtown Atlanta to the east, and Sandy Springs to the south. The city was named after a forest that once thrived in what is now Forest Park. The first settlers in what is now Forest Park arrived in 1825 and built a log cabin on Rocky Acres Creek. They were quickly followed by other pioneers who began clearing land for farming and forestry purposes. By 1830, there were over 50 homes in Forest Park and it had been renamed for General James Forrest, one of Georgia's early generals and president of the United States from 1829-1835. In 1881, Forrest donated 1,000 acres (500 ha) of land to be used as a public park which was later designated as Forest Park by an act of Congress. The original park included areas today known as Central Avenue South, West Drive North, East Drive South, Glenwood Place East Side and much of Druid Hills Reserve behind them. In 1898-99, work began on constructing what would become One Georgia Plaza – then called "Mr.'s Arcade" – on what would eventually become Central Avenue South near Piedmont Road/I-285 interchange. The mall opened in October 1999 with anchor stores Macy's & Sears and JCPenney & Dick's Sporting Goods among others; it became an important commercial center for Atlanta until its closure in 2003 following Hurricane Andrew damages that left many businesses damaged or destroyed). Forest Park is a census-designated place in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 9,593 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Forest Park was first settled in 1868 by Atlantans from what is now Decatur County and was named after James Forrest, an early settler. The community originally had only one house and twelve families lived there until 1887 when it became a city park with a population of 3,000. The city annexed much of Fulton County in 1898 and Forest Park lost its city status but remained a municipally owned park with civic functions including maintaining public roads and providing recreational opportunities such as swimming, fishing, camping, etc. In 1959 the City Council voted to make Forest Park an independent city with its own government which it has maintained ever since. The history of Forest Park begins with the establishment of what is now Decatur County by Atlantans who were seeking to escape the slave trade that took place along their coast. On December 8th, 1868 James Forrest established his estate called "Fulton" on land he had bought from Andrew Jackson for $4 per acre. The property would eventually become known as Forest Park after Forrest's son-in-law purchased adjoining land from John Troup in 1886 for $8 per acre to form what is now known as Druid Hills Village (see map). As the village grew it prospered due to easy access to water supplies and hunting grounds nearby; however relations between settlers and natives began to deteriorate soon after when white men began settling near native villages without Native American consent or permission which created tension that would lead to violence many times over throughout the 19th century In 1887 Fort Worth annexation reduced Fulton's population by almost two-thirds so when Atlanta became a municipality on January 1st that year all citizens within boundaries of either town were automatically made residents of Atlanta too In 1959 Forest Park became an independently operated municipallyowned park administered through its own government making it one of only a few parks in America similar in structure In 1962 construction began on what would become present day ForestPark Stadium – one of three stadiums built across southern Georgia during this time period along with Lakewood Stadium in League City (nowHouston) and Kennesaw Mountain State College Memorial Stadium (now Gwinnett County) – which later resulted in the growth of Falcons football dynasty beginning with coach Joe Namath's arrival from Cleveland following Super Bowl III . After years filled with controversy surrounding various aspects such as development rights fees charged by developers towards park users/users' contributions towards maintenance fees resulting in several classaction lawsuits filed against local municipalities throughout ensuing years stadium construction continued unabated until 2008 when then Mayor Kasim Reed announced plans to demolish both stadiums citing budget constraints ; however agreement was reached among all parties involved for them both to be preserved pending further study One major component associated directly or indirectly with this period at ForestPark Stadium include Falcons owner Arthur Blank's ownership role which allowed him direct control over not just program funding but also management decisions which led directly thereto including changes made permanent into current day team policies dating back To 1971 including allowing players retained total salary even if they left team priorTo 2014
