The history of firearms in Fairburn, Georgia begins with the arrival of Europeans in the area in the late 17th century. Gun-makers and traders spread out across the Southeast, selling arms and ammunition to Native Americans and settlers. One such trader was John Fairburn, who arrived in 1694. He began manufacturing rifles for use by Cherokee and other Indian tribes, as well as selling them to European settlers. Around 1800,Fairburn moved his business to a new location on Academy Road in Fairburn Township. The business continued operation until 1827 when it merged with another gun manufacturer, James Ladd’s Manufacturing Company. This company continued producing firearms until 1892 when it folded due to financial problems.

Fairburn, Georgia is a small town located in Hall County, Georgia. The population was 721 at the 2010 census. Fairburn is part of the Athens-Clarke Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named after Colonel John Fairburn who granted land to the community in 1801. The first settler in Fairburn was James Sennett who arrived on July 20, 1802. He and his family established a cabin on what is now known as Old Highway 9 south of present day Fairburn. Sennett's cabin served as the nucleus for what would become Fairburn. He raised grazing animals and planted crops until 1812 when he built a sawmill which became one of the largest in the area. In 1827, Captain John Smith purchased 5 acres of land from James Sennett which formed the northwest corner of present day Fairbury Township and Hall County (now Athens-Clarke). At that time, it consisted mostly of woods with some cleared land used for farming purposes such as cornfields and rice fields. It was not until 1840 when Smith built a store on Church Street which became one of local businesses Located here were also several churches including First Baptist Church (1840) and Methodist Episcopal Church (1848). Smith's store remained operational until 1865 when it burned down due to an electrical fire caused by lightning. In 1850, General Andrew Jackson visited this location while campaigning for reelection against Joseph Addison Porter; he stopped at Smith's store where he had dinner with local officials before moving on to Stones River battlefields later that day.. After Jackson's visit, many business owners came into existence withinFairburn such as G W Herndon’s grocery Store (1870), A B Herndon’s hardware store (1875), J H Funk’s millinery shop (1910), E L White’s restaurant (1920) and D P Thrasher’s real estate office(1930). Today there are only two residences remaining in this section - Bruce & Carolyn Dixon's homebuilt in 1923 and Jack & Cathy Bridges' homebuilt in 1954-. Although small compared to other towns located within Hall County during this time period, Fairburn enjoyed a high degree of stability despite numerous changes throughout its history including annexation by Athens-Clarke during 1957-1959; incorporation into Athens-Clarke Municipality following an election held on November 3rd 1959;and then again becoming part of Hall County following an election held on December 1st 1963 due to lack of voter turnout within Athenas-Claude Municipal District... Throughout its historyFairburn has been involved with many events both large and small including national political conventions hosted by Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank; cotton ginning ceremonies benefiting Habitat for Humanity; confirmation services for new ministers conducted at First Baptist Church; Fourth Of July fireworks displays sponsored by Chamber Of Commerce/Georgia Cotton Ginners Association... As one example, representatives from various government agencies attended confirmations for new ministers conducted at First Baptist Church - most notably Mayor Willie McGee who officiated over the services given by Pastor Floyd Lawson... On October 25th 1984 citizens staged protests outside General Mills headquarters after management announced they were ending production at their former poultry plant near Decatur due to increased competition from neighboring communities such as Roswell.... This protest led to General Mills canceling plans to reopen their plant less than three months later.... In 1990 residents staged another protest against planned increases in vehicle registration fees spearheaded by Representative Artis Gilmore..... Over thirty years later still no decision has been made regarding renewal or replacementof these fees...... A variety of issues have come up surrounding future growth potential withintown such as zoning regulations affecting agricultural production; transportation needs needed for foreseeablepopulation growth;; infrastructure needs such as water availability.; health concerns relatedto possible air pollution.........Throughout its historyfair burnians have always placed importance upon fireside chats utilizing stories gleaned from daily life experiences....... With so much going on withintown each week there is little time allotted for anything else........

Fairburn is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 9,004 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. The first permanent settler in Fairburn Township was James and Sally Beard in 1824. They built a log cabin on the Chattahoochee River. The township was organized on November 3, 1828, by order of the General Assembly of Georgia under the name "Fulton". The original town site was located near present-day Druid Hills Cemetery and just east of what is now downtown Fairburn. In 1831, John Aiken (1810–1868) laid out a road from Atlanta to Chattanooga through what is now Fairburn Township and Lumpkin County to connect with the Alabama Railroad Company's line from Chattanooga to Mobile Bayou. This road became known as Aiken Street/I-285 today. In 1830, Reverend Ezekiel Elliott founded First Baptist Church which served as the first church in Fairburn Township. Reverend Elliott also donated land for a schoolhouse and cemetery on whichFairburn High School stands today. In 1835, Captain William Horry established an arsenal at Fort Sumter in Southeast Atlanta and erected two buildings used as warehouses for his goods: One still stands today within walking distance of Fort Sumter Park; it housing galleries called "The Warehouse" that offer views of downtown Atlanta filled with tall buildings typical of that time period.. However little did Captain Horry know when he developed this property that he would one day become home to one of history's most famous entertainment destinations - Paramount Studios-. On December 11th 1860 while serving as Commandant at Fort Pulaski during the American Civil War Battle of Fort Pulaski against Confederate forces commanded by Robert Ewell (1807–1875), Lt Colonel George Stephenson (1795–1864) discovered natural gas trapped under ground insideFort Sumter following underground explosions from naval mines McCloy had placed there weeks earlier!! With this discovery fresh supplies were available for munitions production inside Atlanta quickly becoming one of America's top industrial centers! After successfully extracting over 1 million barrels per day using primitive equipment here at Fort Sumter Empire State Building opened its doors mere months later!!!! Paramount Pictures moved into their new studios across Peachtree Rd from where they continue to operate until this day

The town of Fairburn was founded in 1814 by a group of white men led by Captain John Fairburn. The town was named after General James Wilkinson, who fought in the American Revolution. The first settlers were farmers and their families. In 1824, the town incorporated as a municipality. The population grew rapidly during the 1830s and 1840s, and by 1850, Fairburn had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1861,Fairburn became part of the Confederate States of America and remained so until 1865 when it rejoined the United States. The community experienced economic prosperity during Reconstruction-a time when African Americans were allowed to vote and own property-but eventually declined because of racism. In 1984, Fairburn was named a city in Georgia.
