The economy of East Point has been largelybased on agriculture for most of its history. Today some businesses in the community include: Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (founded 1921), Atlantic Furniture Company (founded 1923), Shell Oil Co., Coca Cola Refreshment Corporation (founded 1955), and Piedmont Homes Incorporated (founded 1957).
