The population density was 842/km² (2,521/mi²). There were 948 housing units at an average density of 316/km² (985/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98% white (non-Hispanic), 0% black or African American; 0% Native American; 0% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; 0% from other races; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2%of the population.

East Point is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,644 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The town was named after East Point on the Savannah River, located in what is now southeastern Georgia and then northwestern Alabama. The first settler in East Point was Nicholas Gadsden, who arrived on October 25, 1817 and built a cabin on the east bank of the Chattahoochee River. Gadsden's wife Catherine Warner came from nearby Coweta Creek and established a farm there about 1820. In 1827, General Andrew Jackson crossed the Chattahoochee River near East Point to invade Alabama and become its president. After his victory over Jefferson Davis at Horseshoe Swamp in November 1827, Jackson decided to move westward into Georgia to take possession of all federal land west of the Appalachian Mountains. He selected East Point as one of his new capitals because it had an excellent site for an arsenal and could be quickly accessible by wagon road from southwest Alabama through Chattanooga and Montgomery to northeast Georgia. Jackson moved his headquarters from Mobile Bay to East Point on December 8, 1827; his first national inauguration took place there two days later under cloudy skies with impressive views of Mount Vernon across downtown Atlanta. Because much of this area remained Unincorporated Fulton County until 1924 when it became part of Cobb County proper (the current county seat), EastPoint has been consistently listed among America's most " Resident Towns" since its incorporation into local government pursuant to Act No 1005 (March 26th 1924).
