As gun laws grew more strict in America, so too did the demand for new gun lights. In the late 1960s, Duluth began to produce its own version of the early firearm light called a "Camelot." This device featured two-inch diameter lenses instead of a wick and a battery, making it much more efficient when used as a handgun light source. Today, gun lights are still standard equipment on many law enforcement vehicles throughout America.

The City of Duluth has experienced many changes throughout its history, including growth in industries such as information technology, health care services, manufacturing and service sectors; decline in those industries during economic recession; resurgance in those industries during recent years; and significant gentrification since 2000 which has led to increased tension between traditional downtown businesses and newer suburbs that have become more expensive to live in but less dense than older neighborhoods. Today, Duluth remains an important cultural center for southern Georgians with strong connections to Scandinavian culture through its prominent Norwegian-American community (estimated at 20% of Duluth’s population) as well as its large Finnish American community (estimated at 10% of Duluth’s population). The city also hosts annual festivals celebrating various aspects of Georgian culture such as Folklore Festival & Heritage AuctionMarch 4-5th or May 6-7th adjacent to historic Morningside Park courthouse square), Nordic Arts FestivalJune 7-9th across from Pioneer Courthouse Square), International Jazz FestivalSeptember 5-7th opposite United Methodist Church) among others.
