AnnEventually obtained her freedom following her husband's death in 1836 after serving out her sentence as an indentured servant at Fort Pulaski Ga . She moved back to Doraville with her son James Jr., later becoming Mrs . Jno . Crouch

In 1907, the old courthouse burned down and all that remains today is a few foundation stones remaining from that time period. In 1913, after Atlanta annexed Cobb County, Doraville became an incorporated community with its own mayor and council members under the same system as Atlanta. In 1925, during World War II, Doraville served as a staging area for military personnel moving to various theaters of war across the country. During this time period there was also construction of an airfield nearby which eventually became one of the most important airports in Georgia with over 190 million passengers operating it during those years alone! In 1957-1958 (the early days of satellite TV), there was much discussion about whether or not to build a cable TV line through Doraville because it would provide service to much larger communities such as Marietta (50 miles away) and Peachtree City (75 miles away). Ultimately though no such line came to be built because of opposition from some residents who felt their town would become too big without such services available!
