This store was located on Second Street in downtown Decatur and sold firearms, ammunition, and other related items. In 1898, the first shooting competition was held in Decatur and the winners were given a rifle by Mayor George Washington Marshall. From then on,gunfighter shirts became popular amongdecaturians. In 1961, The Gunsmith merged with Armoury Supply Company which continued to sell firearms until 1992. During that time period, Armoury Supply Company also produced many different types of firearm clothing including camouflage uniforms for military branches such as the Marines and Army. In 2002, Armoury Supply Company merged with another company called Omni Tactical Sports which continues to produce Firearms clothing today. Decatur is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 25,772 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County and the home of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). The area that would become Decatur was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1786. In 1802, a group of Englishmen led by Colonel William Macon discovered and Exploration began to explore this new land. After many struggles with Native Americans, white settlers began to arrive in increasing numbers beginning in the 1840s. By 1860, Decatur had a population of over 20 residents and it became an incorporated town on December 12th of that year under the name "Decatur". In 1876, Decatur was renamed "Southern Illinois University Carbondale", making it one of only two universities in Georgia to be given this distinction; the other being Atlanta University (now Emory University). SIUC moved from its original location on Worth Street near downtown to its present campus on October 1st, 1923. The university has since grown into one of America's leading research institutions with over 140 departments and programs across six campuses located throughout Illinois and Tennessee. On November 16th, 2008 local resident Artemas Ward won his bid for mayor against incumbent Mayor Vernon Jordan with 54% of the vote as announced by media outlets including The Atlanta Journal Constitution On January 3rd Artemas Ward assumed office as Mayor after winning approval from City Councilmember Darrell Hill who resigned effective February 14th due to health issues. As mayor Ward took steps towards creating more jobs within city limits while also pledging to improve public infrastructure such as expanding sidewalks and renovating intersections leading up to Interstate 5/I-75 which have been long neglected by previous administrations In early 2017 it was reported that following complaints from citizens about unethical behavior from some members of City Council during their term as well as endorsements received from business groups Ward appointed Anita Bonds Manager for Community Development Services effective January 1st
