Today there are only a few remaining businesses that used to be in Nantucket Road but they offer interesting nostalgic experiences such as their old photo album from when they were still open down at the river which has great pictures of local people back then

Cusseta is a small town in the Chattahoochee River Valley region of Georgia. The population was 2,451 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The community was first settled in 1832 by John Cusseta and his family, who named it after their Creek Indian ancestry. Most likely, they were brought over to Georgia as slaves or indentured servants by early settlers. By 1840, John's son David had married Susannah White and moved to Cusseta with her and their children. The couple ranched land until they removed to what is now Chattanooga in 1865 when the US Civil War began. In 1840, David Cusseta married Sarah Goode from a wealthy background in Putnam County,Georgia . They had six children: James (1841-1908), Josephine (1843-1920), David Jr., Charles (1845-1924), Anna (b 1847) and Eunice (b 1850). In 1892, William Troup purchased 640 acres east of present day Cusseta from John Cusseta for $1 million dollars . That same year he also donated land for a school which would serve his local community for many years to come. After William Troup's death in 1916, his grandson George W Troup took over management of the school district which includes much of what is now Cusseta including most of its original farm acreage dating back to before 1830! George W.'s granddaughter Betty Griggs decided to reopen the old fashioned general store that operated on School Street between Union Avenue and Milton Road beginning in 1967 after serving as a grocery store since 1922! At this time Betty commenced renovations that included adding new flooring, remodeling an existing kitchen/dining room into a full kitchen/grill house as well as building two side wings addition onto the rear lot leading up to an attached garage... these additions are still extant today providing excellent living quarters for today’s residents!
