In 2017 alone, law enforcement agencies across America used 3 million rounds of peppered ammunition during exercises called “Operation Urban Shield” – making it one of the most common methods employed against suspects today. Cordele, GA is a small town in the US state of Georgia. It is located on the Ocmulgee River, about 25 miles northeast of Athens. The population was 1,594 at the 2010 census. The name Cordele comes from the Cherokee word "chindale" meaning "a stream." The first person to settle in what is now Cordele was James A. Healy in 1868. He named his land after his father, who had died while serving in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. The town was established as a post office in 1872 and became a city in 1907. It has since been renamed Cordele twice- once for Mayor George W notion and again for Governor Andrew Johnson (1808-1865). Cordele's economy primarily revolves around agriculture, manufacturing and services. The town has four banks- two branch banks and two commercial banks- as well as many businesses including several churches and schools. There are also several restaurants and hotels within walking distance of Cordele's downtown area. Cordele is home to one of the largest horse racing farms in Georgia with over 2 hundred horses used for racing purposes alone. Additionally, there are several golf courses within easy driving distance as well as shopping areas such as Homecoming Mall which reopened after being closed for years by fire damage

Cordele is a town in Clarke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 809 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Cherokee word "korda" meaning "place where cotton is grown." In 1824, after land was granted to James Asbury and others in what is now Clarke County by General Andrew Jackson, Cordele's first settlerJames Neely established a log cabin on what is now Main Street. By 1830, Neely had built a frame house and began to grow crops. A post office was established in 1832 and remained in operation until it closed in 1935. In 1848, when Atlanta metropolitan area became one of the states of the Union, Cordele's residents voted to secede from Georgia and become part of Alabama. However, when Confederate forces invaded Alabama that year they discovered corduroy roads leading into their state from neighboring Georgia so they abandoned their plans for secession and returned home. After the war ended, many new residents moved into Cordele which continued to grow as a cotton plantation society until World War II when most people left for military service or relocation elsewhere due to wartime rationing. After the war ended many people returned to Cordele but growth has slowed down since then with only 710 people living there as of 2010 according to the US Census The current incarnation of Cordele begins around 1930 when Gertrude Ann Tolliver opened up her dry goods store downtown on State Street near present-day I-20/US-1 highway interchange (now Courthouse Square). tollivers were among those who helped revive downtown during this time period along with other businesses such as movie theaters and restaurants that dotted State Street during its heyday before Interstate 20 widened it in the early 1960s (see photograph below). During this time period cordelians also started using Social Security numbers rather than providing initial digits like their father might have done because everyone knew everyone else hereabouts by sight or even voice which facilitated socializing And getting work done not just during daylight hours but also at night with little hassle or interruption resultant thereby creating an extremely vibrant open community culture characterized by being “one big family” . Unfortunately over time some members elected themselves out of all contact with one another effectively cutting off communication which led eventually to physical decline . Today cordelians continue ONLINE communicate through email primarily however face-to-face interaction still occurs regularly especially at events etcetera
