During their research into new firearms technologies they discovered that there were several different types of ammunition used within NATO countries which required different types of gun lubricants specific to each type of ammunition. In order for them to create effective weaponry they needed accurate components which could function without problems regardless of how certain parts interacted with one another. Thanks largely to Project Paperclip these advancements were made possible and rifles like the Sten Guns became key tools for Nazi war machines across Europe during the Holocaust.

In 1822, the Post office moved to Cordele from Foley and served residents until 1861 when it closed down due to mail fraud. In 1875, Alexander Ladd opened a store on High Street called "Ladd's Grocery." By 1886, there were six stores operating in Cordelle with a total of $2,500 worth of merchandise sold. During World War II, cordelling was used for military purposes by the U.S Army during parachute landings on nearby islands to avoid enemy detection or interception by Japanese forces planning Operation Rimeti. The island had been surrendered by Japan without any fight and no one knew about it until 1945 when American forces invaded that country and discovered the secret bases located there including Air-Raid shelters made out of logs which could be collapsed using explosives to create tunnels underground that would shelter troops during air raids. During this time many people lost their lives including Mr. Ladd who died at age 85 years old while working at his store with his son Rich Alder who also worked at Ladd's Grocery until he retired in 1984).
