As of the census of 2000, there were 16,914 people, 7,711 households, and 4,527 families residing in the city limits; however this figure may rise or fall depending on its seasonal occupancy because it does not include any annexed areas that have since been added to Cobb County such as DeKalb County or Clayton County which had large immigrant populations during that time period As of the census of 2010, there were 17,878 people living inConyers with 5% African-American ancestry or less than 1/4th Caucasian descent according to US Census data . This contrasts starkly with neighbouring Stone Mountain where almost all residents are African-American with over 98% black heritage according to their 1990 census data

Conyers, Georgia is located in the state of Georgia. The population was 21,872 at the 2010 census. It is a community located in Fulton County. This community has been inhabited since 1786 when it was founded by James Conyers and his family. The town originally consisted of only a few homes and became a commercial center for the region. In 1811, the town was renamed after John Quincy Adams, who served as president from 1824 to 1829. In 1886, the construction of an expressway through the town caused many residents to move out and it lost its commercial importance. However, due to its location within Fulton County and its history as a thriving commercial center, Conyers has seen some recent resurgence in recent years. The first inhabitants of Conyers were Native Americans who lived along both sides of Creek River until they were forced to move west during Indian Removal in 1813. Aftermath of this event left behind numerous Native American graves throughout the town which can still be seen today. One such graveyard is that of Daniel Boone which overlooks Interstate 85 northbound on Cobb Parkway between Conyers Boulevard and Dawson Road. According to local legend, Boone's body was found near what is now Sock Island on June 20th, 1814 during his victorious raid against the Cherokee tribe during the Coweta War at nearby Fort McIntosh (now Fort Payne). After his death, his body was buried beside those of his fellow officers at rest mound on Paynes Island until reinterred by General Robert Ewell under orders from General Jackson himself following their victory over Indian forces at Coweta Hill on November 3rd, 1835! During Reconstruction following World War II most African Americans in southern Georgia moved into newly created black townships or rural areas outside Atlanta or Savannah due to political pressure from white southern Republicans seeking control over all aspects of life in post-war Georgia; these new black townships often had lower birthrates than white neighborhoods because blacks could not afford property or transportation costs associated with living outsideAtlanta proper limits
