The original boundaries were 9th Street east (now US-1) north (now I-285), 12th Street south (now Peachtree Road), 15th Street west (now Channelview Road), Creekwood Avenue east (now Pryor Boulevard), Allatoona Avenue north (now Grady Highway), Indian Hill Drive west ( rejoining present day Creekwood Avenue ), Harding Place south ( now Dunwoody Road ), and Allen Parkway east ( rejoining present day Indian Hill Drive). During World War II, Conyers played an important role in supplying munitions for both sides of the conflict by manufacturing planes and munitions plants such as USS Constellation airfields near Roswell NM () as well as providing workforce for airplane production at nearby Douglas Aircraft Company (); these factories produced thousands of aircraft parts for American forces all over North America including many service stars earned by employees atConways plant postwar years. Pershing's Fifth Army Corps Headquarters which located here from October 16-November 3rd 1916 On December 14th 1915 Japanese bombers bombed Pearl Harbor resulting in over 100 civilian deaths within five minutes of each other including 21 children under 10 years old who died when their families went into markets to buy food that morning
