Origin and Development The origins of rifle stocks are obscure but they may have originated in ancient Greece or Rome. Some historians believe that rifles were first developed in China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The earliest rifles were designed for handgun use which was why they were made with short barrels and rudimentary sights. As Rifle technology improved, so did rifle stocks which became more sophisticated. By the 18th century, rifle stocks had become standardized across countries such as Great Britain, France, Spain, Austria-Hungary, Germany, Italy, Russia etc. One common feature between these states was that all rifles were muzzleloaders which means that ammunition was loaded into the barrel before firing. This practice allowed for quick changes of position while reloading which gave infantrymen an advantage over cavalry charges. As muzzleloading firearms advanced through the years however, accuracy began to suffer due to residual heat from propellant feeding which caused rounds to jostle against one another when fired (known as “joint firing”). To address this issue lawmakers beganюto regulate muzzleloading firearms by passing laws regulating magazine capacity (i.e., how many rounds could be held in each magazine), type of loading mechanism (i.e., breechblock or bolt action), trigger pull strength (i.e., Heavy or Light), solid metal buttstocks/pistols grip handles/ammunition pouches etc.). College Park, Georgia is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 3,816 at the 2010 census. College Park is located on the eastern edge of the city of Atlanta. It is bordered by Decatur to the east and west; Roswell to the north; Sandy Springs to the south; and Dunwoody to the southwest. The first settlers in College Park were nine families from Georgina County who arrived in 1800. The town was named for Mr. John Denton, an early settler. In 1821, a group of Germans immigrated to College Park and founded what became known as "Deutschlandlieder- und Hausgenossenschaft" or German Singers and Household Association (now DeKalb Community College). English settlers arrived later that year and renamed the society "College Park American Society". By 1825, all German residents had left college park except one family who continued to live there until 1868 when they moved away because of political reasons associated with Reconstruction period America. In 1827–28 businessman James White purchased land along Pee Dee River which he donated for a public school system in present day College Park Township without prejudice against any race or color. A two-story schoolhouse was built on this site in 1830 by local contractor John Waddell with funds provided by White himself On November 14th, 1830 trustees agreed unanimously that “the School District No 1 within these limits will hereafter be called” Colored Normal School – also commonly known as white schools Nos 1 through 5 across much of southeastern Georgia were opened for instruction on December 6th 1830 under leadership of Drs James Baldwin (1806-1878), Isaac Watts (1795-1872), Amos Kendall (1795-1864) – Superintendent Ebenezer Brown (1800-1875) Whites attended only private academies where their children received excellent education while colored students learned only common skills needed for everyday life including farming etc., but very little about African American history or culture
