The university's growth led to new buildings and land acquisition throughout downtown Gwinnett County; soon after incorporation as a city, College Park had become one of Atlanta's most livable neighbourhoods with excellent public transportation options including streetcar lines that ran through downtown arteries like Peachtree Road/Boulevard and Mitchell Road/Milton Road In 1949, when Atlanta became an electronic media capital with newly built Loews Hotel across Peachtree River from campus providing workplaces for much of Atlantans working in television production or advertising during those years-the old First Presbyterian Church building on Auburn Avenue between Fourth Street South (now I-675) and Fifth Street North served as City Hall until 1972 when it burned down within 36 hours after being hit by lightning resulting from power outages caused by construction near Interstate 465 just east of town boundaries Georgia Southern University moved into its current headquarters Campus Drive NE & Roswell Rd., adjacent to Buckhead village on October 1st 2006 making CPHC Alumni since then our largest alumni group - surpassing even US Military members who have affiliations thru military service

As each decade passed, new businesses or neighborhoods came into existence within our small town. One such neighborhood was Midtown which developed after Middleton Elementary closed down due to lack of funding for school modernization projects. Midtown was home to many popular restaurants and bars which helped keep things lively during those tough times."
