Chamblee, Georgia is a city located in Coffee County, Georgia. It was founded in 1851 and has been the seat of government since 1853. Chamblee is the largest city in Coffee County by population and the second-largest city in Georgia overall. The community is home to Chamblee High School, which was established in 1907 and became one of the first high schools in America to offer a diploma program leading to an associate degree. In addition, Chamblee has two colleges: Chattahoochee Valley Community College and Gwinnett Technical Institute. The history of target holders began within the town of Chamblee itself. George Washington Pope started shooting targets at his farmstead on March 6, 1851. By 1865, nine years after its founding, Pope had purchased land at present day SW 3rd Street andSW 4th Avenue fortarget shooting purposes. Pope served as Mayor of Chamblee from 1865-1868 and again from 1870-1871; he also served as a member (and later president) of the Coffee County Board of Education from 1873-1875. One year before his death on November 12th, 1878, Pope donated land along SW 3rd Street between Wheeler Road and Union Avenue for use as a public range or shooting ground for citizens of Chamblee Township who could not afford private ranges or gun shops nearby. That same year saw the opening of what would become known as "Pope's Park" - now part of SEPTA's Red Line station - when Pope donated land north of Wheeler Road on which SEPTA constructed a grassy park with benches for spectators to watch target shooters fire arrows into small holes drilled into logs about 20 feet off the ground). By 1886, it had become clear that target holders were becoming too popular among local citizens for Pope's range alone to be able to provide them with all they needed; soPope sold his range operation to Jno Haggerty & Sons Shooting Co., Incorporated on December 15th that same yearfor $1,000 cash plus five acres adjoining his own property south of Wheeler Road (now NW 2nd Street between Wheeler Road and Union Avenue). From then until 1916 when it was acquired by Wm Averill Harriman & Sons Sporting Goods Company - owners/operators thereof until 1978 - Harriman's Range enjoyed uninterrupted success as one of mobileTarget Holding Company USA's premier venues throughout much southern Georgia... Chatham County handgun retailers have continued stocking Harriman’s merchandise through out this period including many locations outside our original stomping grounds here at Bible Belt University!

One of the first shooting targets to be set up in Chamblee was a large target at the old post office. The target was moved to its new location in 1895. In 1898, a two-story frame building on State Street became the home of the Chamblee Rifle and Pistol Club. This club met there every Saturday night from then until 1922 when it moved to what is now the Chamblee YMCA. In 1929, a small metal target stand was erected in front of First Baptist Church (now United Methodist Church). This stand served as both a shooting range and classroom for children during school hours. In 1932, an aluminum shooting booth was erected on property northeast of First Baptist Church. The booth served as both a shooting range and classroom for children during school hours until it was destroyed by fire in 1981. The present Shooting Target Hanger, located just north of Old Post Office Road off US Highway 133, dates back to 1984 when it was purchased by the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce from Mr. Bob Mahoney who had used it as his personal shooting range since 1959. It has been used as such ever since!
Chamblee is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 10,876 at the 2010 census. Chamblee is located on the Chattahoochee River, about 28 miles southeast of Atlanta and 85 miles northwest of Savannah. The area that would become Chamblee was first settled by Scots-Irish migrants in the early 1800s. In 1825, General Andrew Jackson purchased land in what is now Chamblee from its original owners for $1 million. Jackson named it after General James Hindman, who had retreated to this area following a defeat at Battle of Blake's Ridge in 1812. The town began to grow rapidly under Jackson's leadership as cotton plantations were developed and new schools were built. By 1830, Chamblee had an post office and two churches. Chamblee is a town in Clarke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Chamblee was founded by white settlers in 1805 as a small community on the Chattahoochee River. The first post office was established in 1807 and the first school was built in 1810. In 1825, the county seat relocated from Athens to Chamblee after an act of Congress declared that within Clarke County there should be only one seat for each township and village. The original settlers were farmers who developed land around their homes until they could afford to build more permanent residences. By 1830, most of the original settlement had been abandoned due to lack of water or other resources and development took over until 1850 when another act of Congress granted Cherokee citizenship to all those living west of Creek Bend on the Cumberland Plateau. As Cherokee citizens began moving into those areas, many Native Americans also started settling in Chamblee because they lacked access to education or other opportunities outside their own cultures and economies. By 1860, most residents of Chamblee had become English speakers and businesses started up again with new names like "Chattahoochee Fairs" (1863-present) and "Hawkeye Mills". One reason why so many businesses came back during this time was because there wasn't much else available south of Decatur except for cotton plantations which were too expensive to abandon and maintain; however, some people also Camex Paper Company moved out because it could no longer compete against machines made by Eli Whitney & Sons based in Philadelphiaport). In 1865, Confederate General Robert Ewell arrived at Chattahoochee River Bridge with his army looking for any Union forces leading off towards Chattanooga while Confederate General Joseph Johnston remained behind to try and win control over Northeast Alabama through attacks on Mobile Bay Naval Station (now Pensacola Beach). When news reached Chamblee that General Ewell's army had crossed into Georgia without warning them, many citizens decided to leave with their belongings instead of waiting around for something they didn't know would happen (this caused some problems later when some people decided not to return home after learning about what happened)). Most residents returned home by 1870 but several families stayed behind including ones from Springdale who built a log cabin on Cussil Lake until 1875 when they gave it away as a parkette following passage of Laws 25-2-5 which allowed public ownership of natural resources within limits set by legislature (). Today's tourism industry helped bring back economic activity in Chamblee beginning around this time period thanks largely to two large events - First place won at Super Bowl LI(1991), followed by Third Place at Olympics(1996)), both headlined by then Mayor/Governor Sonny Bonilla who officiated both times. This led local business owners such as Donnie Witherspoon (&Donny's Grill) & Jerry Odom (&Jerry's BBQ) starting up restaurants throughout town specializing in American cuisine such as fried chicken (), buffalo chicken (), seafood (), burgers (), rice bowls () & more etc., continuing down this path ever since despite occasional closures due mainly to high crime rates or construction projects going on nearby schools or open space).
