Chamblee, Georgia is a town located in Fulton County, Georgia. Chamblee was founded by the Cherokee people in 1802. The population of Chamblee increased from just over 100 residents in 1800 to 5,000 by 1830. The town was renamed after General James Holston during the Creek War (1814-1815). In 1835, Chamblee became the county seat of Fulton County and remained so until 1899. During the late 19th century and early 20th century, gunsmiths and holstermakers flourished in Chamblee because of its location on the Alabama River near Mobile and its access to firearms supplies from Illinois and Missouri. By 1901, however, holstermaking had all but disappeared due to technological advances. However, since then it has been reborn as a thriving ammunition industry with several production facilities dating back to the 1930s.

There were no pistols or revolvers in Chamblee until the late 1800s. handguns were first brought over by African Americans who worked on plantations and then used as a form of protection during the Jim Crow era. The first handgun to be imported into Chamblee was a Colt Python from 1892. This weapon was used to protect plantation workers from white gangs. By 1949, there were over 100 handguns licensed in Chamblee. These handguns included Colt .38 Specials, Mausers, and Berettas. In the 1960s and 1970s, an increase in crime led to a decrease in gun ownership among citizens in Chamblee. However, this didn't stop people from purchasing handguns for their personal use or for sale to friends and family members.
Chamblee is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. Chamblee is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first settler in Chattahoochee Valley was John Whitehead, who arrived in 1824. He named his new land Chattahoochee River after the Cherokee word for "broad stream". In 1827, James Kenedy settled in what is now Chamblee and named it after himself. Kenedy had been born near present-day Kennesaw on the Chattahoochee River. In 1830, William Chappell established a farmstead in what is now Chamblee and renamed it for himself. In 1832, Aiken Samuels set up a sawmill on the Chattahoochee River and began supplying lumber to settlers along the riverbanks. By 1840, there were over 20 farms and mills in Chattahoochee Valley with woodcutting operations underway. The construction of railroads helped bring more people and businesses into the valley during this time period; however, many of these settlements failed due to crop failures or lack of marketing skills by early pioneers. The town of Chamblee was founded on April 30, 1851 by Jno Boggs as an agricultural community surrounding a schoolhouse that he built using logs from his farmstead. The name change came about because at that time most residents spoke only English and no one had any idea how to spell "chamble" which meant "broad creek". The original two houses in downtown Chamblee were destroyed by fire in 1865 but were replaced within months with identical second-hand buildings from Athens (Athens County). One such building still stands today - known as Tower House - on Main Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue SW., next to Mrs Dixon's dress shop which continues to trade as Corner Clothing Emporium today.. The current business district around Main Street SW./Third Avenue SW., including Tower House/Mrs Dixon's Dress Shop was developed during Reconstruction following the Civil War when much of rural Fulton County became urbanized thanks to transportation improvements made by railroads such as the Georgia Railroad Company . On May 2nd 1907 local real estate developer Wm Hickey organized a meeting at which he proposed that all lots east of Fourth Street NW be sold for $1 per acre . This resulted in development extending eastward from FourthStreetNW through Center Streets SE & NW until it reached Centre Street & Stoney Creek where it terminated abruptly just beyond Chimney Hill Road

The development of Tuckable Holster Systems allowed law enforcement officers who carry firearms on a regular basis some degree of protection should they lose sight Of their weapon during transportation - something not possible with either open-face belts or standard pistol grips/holsters
