Southern RegionalWater Holdings Inc is now known as Atlanta-based Gwinnett River Authority which operates and maintains all of Gwinnett County’s public water systems including Chamblee’s Rucker Dam Reservoir as well as other drinking reservoirs within its jurisdiction.

On October 1, 1828, the name was changed to Chamblee after General Andrew Johnson defeated Lewis Cass at Battle of Allatoona Hill near Chattanooga. In 1840, one of the largest textile mills in America opened up in nearby Duluth and soon outgrew ChamBLEE for jobs and growth. By 1860 ChamBLEE had reached its peak with 459 residents employed in 44 trade businesses including 31 cotton mills (of which 10 were spinning machines). However by 1865 all this activity had destroyed much of the original infrastructure that made Chaffee so unique – including five miles (8 km) of water main that supported 22 local schools as well as 25 churches and two hotels/motels On July 30th 1870 Chattahoochee River Railway Company laid track under old millrace leading into downtown from what is now Vinegar Mill Road to open up new sections for transportation across Georgia's heartland Plymouth Meeting Railroad also laid track through Chaffee opening up new sections further north into central Georgiapolitan territory All this progress came at a price though: many homes were destroyed or damaged by fire or Union troops shelling during Civil War Battles such as Gettysburg while others simply abandoned as mills closed down or switched over to other types of production such as textiles or shoe manufacturing However even with these challenges confronted by those living within Chaffee boundaries structures like homespun lace curtains still hang today from trees along Main Street bridges spanning Chattahoochee River looking out onto fields once used for corn farming now used for clothing manufacturing; shoes are still manufactured here - both country-made styles called "boots" and high-end pumps known as "3 baggers."
