Chamblee is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Chamblee is located on the Chattahoochee River and has a rich history dating back to 1823 when it was named for Colonel James Chamblee, an American Revolutionary War officer and landowner. In 1885, Chamblee became an incorporated municipality with a population of 3,000 people. The community began as a farming village on the banks of the Chattahoochee River about eight miles (13 km) northwest of downtown Atlanta. Captain John Fenton founded what would become known as Fenton's Ferry Landing in 1794 on the site now occupied by Chamblee Village. After early settlers died from Yellow Fever during the 1830s and 1840s, local Native American nations helped develop food production in what would become known as "The Land of Legends". In 1843, Tennessee entrepreneur Andrew Johnson purchased 1/4 mile (0.6 km) of river frontage from Captain Fenton in what would later become known as Chamblee Village. Johnson developed this land into one of his most successful businesses: governance by white men proved to be a profitable venture; he soon sold additional acreage to other entrepreneurs and developers who continued to make money off this valuable real estate asset until after World War II when it reverted back to its original owner-operator status quo ante bellum . In 1847, George Stephenson designed and built the locomotive Rocket which featured a new type of gun swivel called the “Rocket Gun Swivel”. This system allowed reloading from behind the locomotive using a human-powered lever instead of having to get down on one knee and reach under the engine to grab something else before reloading again. During World War II,gunswives became increasingly important due to their ability to rotate weapons 360 degrees around their fulcrums allowing them to cover more ground rapidly while firing than ever before. Some famous guns that utilized this technology include the Japanese Type 89 Rifle and American M1A rifle. Despite its many benefits,gunswives remain somewhat unpopular due to their bulky design and requiring special tools (such as an armillary sphere) for installation into most rifles/pistols/. There is also some concern over potential misuse as certain individuals may be able to open fire if they hold onto a gunwitch incorrectly during installation or adjustment routine.

Chamblee is a town in Barrow County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,060 at the 2000 census. Chamblee is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Chamblee was founded by settlers in 1804 and named for Captain John Chamblee of the British Navy who served in the Creek War against the Cherokee Nation. It was first settled on a landmark site between present-day Chamblee Road and Peachtree Road. The first store opened in 1810 and soon became an important center for trade within the area. Agricultural pursuits were also important early on, with land being leased out for growing corn, wheat, cotton and other crops. By 1840, there were six stores and two hotels operating in town. In 1851, a school was built which remained in use until it burned down in 1902. In that year, new homes were begun to replace older buildings throughout what would become Chamblee Town Square today; these included three churches (Anglican Episcopal church built 1857), a Masonic Lodge (1862) and ten shops including one store that still stands today called The Cotton Mill which operated from 1865 to 1886 as one of several mills located near Chameeleon Lake before it became known as Chattahoochee River National Forest; after years of operation by various farmers it closed its doors permanently due to damage caused by Hurricane Floyd in 1999 In 1896-97 Chamblee had its first post office with Wm Mosely as Postmaster In 1924-25 post office moved to current location Chamblee has been home to many businesses over time such as Dillard's Department Store built 1911 which continues until now as a popular tourist spot selling almost everything from clothing to furniture
Chamblee was founded by James Robertson in 1824. The town developed around a canal that ran through the area and became a major transportation center for the region. Chamblee was also home to Georgia's first cotton gin in 1827. In 1865, Chamblee was renamed after General Robert E. Lee, who had fought in the American Civil War.
