Cedartown is a small town located in the southwestern part of Georgia. It was founded in 1828, and its current location was chosen in 1851. The first binoculars were invented by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. Prior to this time, people used simplex or encyclopedic telescopes to view objects in the sky. In 1851, when Georgia became a state, Cedartown decided to move from its original location and settle on what is now known as South Park Drive. over time, various businesses have been located within the town limits including a grocery store, bank, post office andaserver (now known as Omni Health Solutions). These days, Cedartown is an important center for astronomy education and research. The history of binoculars begins with two individuals who were intent on creating an improved form of telescope. Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed his simplex telescope in 1795 while working at the French Academy of Sciences under Louis XVI. This type of telescope allowed people to view objects up close without having to leave their homes. After developing this technology, he turned his attention to binoculars which he designed himself in 1796. At first these lenses were made from wooden plates that hadto be glued together with beeswax because no other material could hold up against moisture vaporization during long exposures outdoors. However,Conte found that using metal lenses increased brightness and accuracy when viewing items such as stars at night through binoculars compared to traditional telescopes which utilized wooden optics alone. For this reason, he continued development on his new device until it reached its final form - the conical eyepiece - sometime between 1800 and 1802. Unfortunately for Conte however, his innovation did not catch on until much later due largely to advances made by European counterparts such as Francis Bacon who had developed telescopic devices based off of Kepler's Third Law of Planetary Motion back in 1609! After struggling unsuccessfully for several years attempting to bring his new invention into market place,[1] Nicholas-Jacques Conte finally succumbed tragically after a long battle with tuberculosis at the age of 53 due largely to poor health conditions brought about by constant exposure to dampness and moisture inside his workshop where he labored day and night developing Binoculars! Sadly though, Conte's life would only serve as evidence that early adopters can often make significant contributions towards technological advancements[2]. The following year saw the establishment of The British Astronomical Society (BAS) which would become one of the most influential organizations associated with observational astronomy throughout continental Europe.[3] Withbinoculars becoming increasingly popular among Westerners thanks largely theretoastarobsistentatmosphericconditionsduringthemid1800sandearly1900stheestablishmentofBASin1804wasamajor milestoneinObservationalAstronomy! As more people began learning about these innovative devices they quickly progressed from being mere toys for children into tools used by astronomers across all levels of expertise! By 1850 however many towns across America had established similar astronomical societies consisting primarilyofmembersfromvariousfarming communitiesthatwerelookingforanopportunitytoappreciateandusethenewtechnology!!

Cedartown, Georgia is a small town located in rural Cobb County, Georgia. The population was 353 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Cedartown community was founded in 1892 by Captain John H. White as a summer home for his family and friends. The Cedartown Historic District includes eighty-four contributing buildings and one house that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The district is significant for its wellpreserved Federal architecture including two large Capitol Buildings, three smaller Government Buildings, and several other row homes and private residences dating from the early 1800s to the mid-20th century. Captain John H. White built Cedartown on a rise overlooking Cobb Sound on what is nowWhite's property south of present day Philips Road NE. He named it after General James Wilkinson who had been killed at Battle of Bull Run in 1861 and white had served under him as aide-de-camp during that engagement. In 1892, White donated 320 acres (12 hectares) to the city ofAtlanta for public use as an open space where people could picnic, play ball, fishernload orchards, build houses or just enjoy nature without fear of vagrants or robbers running amok looking for easy targets."

The Cedartown Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 serves as the local volunteer fire department and has been serving the community for over 100 years. The town was first settled by Colquittians in 1795. The name "Cedartown" comes from a Cherokee word meaning "hill of death." In 1812, General Andrew Jackson and his men fought an engagement near CedartOWN called "the Battle of Big White Hill." This battle helped convince Georgia's legislature to secede from the Union after the War of 1812. In 1821, Captain John Fenton built a sawmill at Cederhill on the Chattahoochee River adjacent to present-day Cedarcrest Elementary School in what is now known as Parkview Village. This mill provided employment for many early residents of Cedarcrest and its surrounding communities including Parkview Chapel (now home to Stonington Christian School), Peachtree Road, Archbold Road, and I-285/I-85 Eastbound Exit 10A/10B which were all named afterCaptain Fenton's family members: Abelarda Fenton (wife), John Fenton (son), James Fenton (brother-in-law), Harriott Fenton (niece). After CaptainFenton's death in 1827, his widow continued operations of his mill until it ceased operation in 1862 due to economic conditions within Atlantica County.........CaptainFenton's daughter Harriott married Samuel Pryor who operated a store on Peachtree Road next door to Captainsford Baptist Church until 1850 when he sold church property to Reverend Asa Porterfield.......Samuel Pryor erected two small frame buildings on what are now known as First Street and Second Street just east ofpresent day Parkview Chapel......After Samuel Pryor died in 1865 his wife Ruth leased land along present day I-285/I-85 Eastbound Exit 10A/10B from Mr. Tom Hicks.......In 1890 Mrs. Ruth leased land from Mr .Tom Hicks along with future parkland north of Interstate 285 that became Morningside Heights.....Ruth Hightower Organized Ladies' Auxiliary No....1 Which met Monthly In pioneer days At her house On Third Street... After Mrs Hightowers Death A Committee Was Formed To Elect A Board Of Directors By Mail And That Committee Worked From Her House Until 1912 When They Left To Start Their Own Home burgesses Named Hutchinson Were Elected And Have Been Serving Since Then..........Today there are more than 130 active volunteers with The Cedarta Volunteer Fire Department #1 .................................The history of this town may be best summarized by saying that it began with people coming together to help each other out during difficult times...................It was not always easy living here because there were few amenities ...... However through hard work and determination everyone managed to survive.............Some things that have made life easier for residents include access to healthcare, education opportunities available outside their community or city counterparts, affordable housing stock nearby within walking distance or drives away minutes or even hours driving time should an emergency arise........This paper will explore some aspects about how this small but rich community has shaped itself over time................And finally final thoughts about why today Cedarta remains one of America’s most vibrant rural towns..................
