By 1817 there were over 100 residents living in what is now Cartersville, with many more arrived during the next few decades. By 1850 CartersVILLE had reached 2,000 residents and by 1870 it had attained 5,000 residents (of which most were agriculturalists). During Reconstruction period much progress was made for African Americans throughout southern Georgia through various initiatives such as education and political empowerment through local organizations such as the Aryan Brotherhood of America (ABA) which served as an important foundation for black self-reliance during this time period across all levels of society considering that before Reconstruction only white men could own land or vote; furthermore black women also enjoyed some level of rights and opportunities not available to other female citizens in those days including medical care and housing accommodations despite still facing significant racism from whites who considered them second class citizens due to their race alone rather than their socio-economic status quo. As African American community grew larger they started to form their own organizations like ABA which helped provide support infrastructure such as churches/mosques/libraries etc.; additionally these organizations became increasingly active within state politics leading eventually to increased representation for African Americans both locally & nationally during this era overall resulting in positive change & progress being made for all groups although some faced continued challenges until well into the 21st century such as lack of access to quality education & healthcare among underserved communities particularly those experiencing poverty or social isolation however with increasing awareness & engagement by individuals within& outside our communities things are slowly but surely beginning to change especially when it comes to ensuring equitable treatment towards everyone regardless of economic background
