Gun targets have been a popular pastime in Canton, Georgia for over 100 years. They were originally created as firearms targets to shoot at during carnivals and other events. Today, gun targets are still used for fun and target practice in Canton. The first guns that were designed to be fired at gun targets were built by Samuel Colt in 1836. His pistols were designed to fire ballistas or balls that traveled far enough to hit a target at a distance of up to 50 yards. However, the early guns did not have the capability to fire rounds that would penetrate deeply into a wooden target. In 1876, John Bell became the first person to design and build an air-operated gun target that could be shot at with paintball ammunition. The Bell Air Gun Target was able to shoot projectiles up to 100 feet away from the launcher. This weapon was very useful because it allowed people in cantons such as Canton, Georgia, to participate in outdoor firearm competitions without having their weapons damaged or destroyed by other competitors’ gunfire. Over time, different manufacturers began producing gun targets that differed from each other in terms of their shooting capabilities and materials used for their construction. In 1976, independent contractor Bob Hite started manufacturing his own air-operatedgun targets using high-quality materials such as cloth and plastic instead of metal and canvas like most others on the market at the time. This innovation allowed people in Canton, Georgia, who loved shooting handgun matches but lacked equipment or experience necessary for competing outside of their homes or businesses can now do so with ease without having their firearms ruined or destroyed by other competitors’ gunfire

In 1861, the Confederate army invaded Georgia and began fighting. The club pistols were confiscated by the Union army and used for target practice. After the Civil War ended, the guns were re-purposed as farm implements.
Canton is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Canton is located on the southern edge of the Chattahoochee Hills and includes an unincorporated community called White Sands. Canton has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s when it was part of what was then known as Muscogee County. In 1892, Canton became a city and was named after Cincinnati, Ohio's first city. The current mayor is Melvin Watkins with term expiring in 2020. In 1898, one year afterAtlanta became consolidated into one city and Canton became its second city, both communities were merged to form one municipality. This merger resulted in many changes for both towns including increased taxes that helped finance infrastructure projects such as new schools and streets. At this time there were only three churches in Canton- all of which had been built before incorporation- but by 1915 they had grown to eight with added Baptist and Methodist services along with two post offices serving residents from various areas within the township boundaries (west of Dayton Road) until west of I-85 arrived in 1978 (the original incorporated community). Many aspects associated with growth during this time include: development of farmland for agriculture; construction or improvement of roads; introduction or use of electric power; establishment or enlargement of cantonal businesses such as grocery stores, restaurants etc.; addition or replacement of civic buildings like fire stations etc.; increase in cantonal families living together due to social reasons such as higher levels of education available opportunities for womenfolk outside their homes prior to World War II; growth in housing stock including single family homes/condos/townhomes etc.; appearance/characteristics over time reflecting changing needs more closely related to those times rather than today's trends

The first modern firearms were created in America in the late 1700s and early 1800s. They were called “firearms” because they could be fired only with percussion caps ( cartridges ). During World War II, target shooting was used as an important tool to help soldiers learn how to fire weapons accurately. Gun Targets was one of the few businesses in America that continued to offer target shooting services during that time. In the early 1800s, a French musketeer named Nicolas-Jacques Conte popularized the use of handguns as part of his strategy to defeat Spanish forces at the Battle of Bunker Hill. By 1836, guns had become so common on American warships that they were able to successfully shoot down one of British ships using just four shots from a six-shot revolver—a feat never accomplished with rifles. The revolver eventually became the standard sidearm for law enforcement and self-defense in the United States until it was replaced by firearms such as rifles in the late 19th century.
Canton is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 27,505 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fulton County. Canton's economy is based on manufacturing and service industries. Canton had a population of 31,886 as of the 2010 census. The name "Canton" comes from an early Indian village called Kanantouchehkenti (meaning "place belonging to the canoes"), which was located near present-day Canton on the Chattahoochee River. The first white settler in what is now Fulton County was John Ross, who arrived in 1785 and claimed land east of what are now downtown Canton and Clearwater Streets. In 1801, George Rogers Clark established himself at what is now Jonesboro and built his house still standing today – he named it for General Andrew Jackson, then commander of the American army during the Mexican–American War. In 1819–20, militia soldiers from Buttsville under Colonel James Boddy marched through Canton on their way to suppress a Republican uprising there against Andrew Jackson’s re-election as President that year. The town grew rapidly after this event; by 1830 it had 5 stores, 25 buildings and 100 residents. During Reconstruction following Reconstruction efforts in America led by Congresswoman Rosalind Russell (D-Georgia), many African Americans were relocated to Atlanta from southern states such as Alabama and Mississippi during this time period because black voters were not allowed to vote in those areas until after passage of The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1870. Many African Americans worked as manual labor or service jobs while they awaited their turn to become citizens – some never did so because they lacked proper identification or access to education or health care opportunities reserved for whites only during that time period.–resulting in them being known as "Canton blacks." In 1898 Beltline Bridge opened connecting Canton with Marietta across the Chattahoochee River; construction began on Interstate 20 around this time which would eventually lead to development within cantonal limits into today's Midtown area
Canton was founded by the Cherokee in 1802. It became a town in 1886, and a city in 1911.
