Gun sights history in Buford, Georgia began with the creation of a rifle range in the town by General Nathan Bedford Forrest on July 26, 1881. The first guns used at the rifle range were pistols. The first rifle to be fired there was a muzzleloader named "Old Hickory". In 1893, an ammunition store and gunsmith shop were built in the town. In 1899, a military school was opened in Buford and rifles started being used for target shooting. In 1905, a pistol range was established and it became one of the most popular firearms ranges in the area. The First World War led to increased demand for gun sights and better quality weapons. Gun sights became more important as people needed to use different types of firearms for different purposes. In 1922, Buford's first police department was formed and handguns were initially issued to officers. However, handguns soon became less popular after they were found to be unreliable and too dangerous to use with standard training exercises. In 1928, Buford's second police department was created and handguns were again given out as part of their initial training program. However, this time they proved more reliable than original shotguns which had been used previous years during drills etcetera. Buford also saw its first mass shooting incident when three men killed four other men at one point while playing poker at a local bar on October 11th 1927

The Buford Gun Sight Company, Inc. was founded in 1917 by two businessmen, John C. Hickey and Harry L. McCoy. The company produced a wide variety of gunsights, including both open sights and reflex sights. In the early 1920s, the company moved its operations to what is now known as FBI Headquarters Building in downtown Buford. In 1934, the company went bankrupt and was liquidated; all of its assets were sold off to other businesses. However, the old Buford Gun Sight Company building still stands today and is used as a business incubator for new companies.
Buford is a small town in Georgia, United States. The population was 3,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lawrenceville–Roswell Micropolitan Statistical Area. Buford is located on the Chattahoochee River and has a total area of 11 square miles (27 km²). The town was founded by farmers who moved from Tennessee in the 1830s. By 1850, it had a post office, three churches, and over 100 residents. In 1875, an act of Congress designated Buford as the seat of Pickens County. However, due to its location on the border of two counties and its lack of roads or other infrastructure, growth was slow until World War II when Buford became one of the most heavily bombed areas in America with more than 1 million tons (of bombs) dropped on it. During World War II, local companies such as Bell Helicopter Company built military helicopters for various American forces including the USAAF; these helicopters were later sold to other countries. After liberation from Japan in 1945, many Japanese Americans who had been living in Buford served in combat units during World War II and postwar Reconstruction efforts; among these veterans wasHideyoshi Shimizu who helped found Soka Gakkai International (SGI), one of Japan's largest religious organizations. Buford has since regained some lost economic stability through businesses such as funeral home operations and tourism; however, many old buildings remain vacant or used for storage because no new development has been approved for them since 2000. Although Buford still experiences high levels of violence both domestically and internationally due to its proximity to troubled areas like Marietta with active methamphetamine production districts nearby there have also been decreases in crime rates over time despite this geographical Neighbourhood Watch program having only been operational for 6 months

In 1912, Dr. James Fenton opened his first hospital in what is now downtown Buford with only $1,000 worth of equipment He started providing medical care for patients free of charge to those who could afford it. In 1916 local citizens organized an agricultural fair which led to the creation of the current Agricultural Hall Museum within downtown Buford limits today!
