Some 400 members of Captain George Bainbridge's bandarqin (native military unit) also migrated downriver; many went permanently into exile among Creeks living along Florida's Gulf Coast or Upper Louisiana’s Acadian communities although most returned home after Seminole Wars (1835-1846), Watts riots (1947) or World War II when many Georgians served out drafted periods overseas-(eager citizens included Cpl.(Jg.) John Hargrave). There are persisting remnants today – 20%Native Hawaiians make up Bainsburg’s entire school board while 1/3 Caucasian households have resided here since 2000; 3%Black Americans make up municipal staff & about half its citizens identify themselves as “Other Whites Only” census definition notwithstanding over 50% African American ancestry according to 2015 US Census estimates .
