From this location, he continued to sell tools and equipment used in the production of glass making products until 1868 when he moved again, this time to his current location on Chatham Avenue. By 1850, Bainbridge had installed a large telescope at his home which allowed him to view objects located far away while still being able to make traditional glass products. Unfortunately, due to an eclipse that took place that year, Bainbridge was unable to continue manufacturing telescopes and sold his assets back into business.
