When Jeptha Hogg died suddenly in 1855, his widow sold the store back to Bainbridge for $15,000 dollars! With this new investment came a more aggressive marketing strategy that helpedestablished Bainbridge as one of southeast Georgia's most important tourist attractions during its early years! During World War II, several local businesses contributed their services to support the war effort including making munitions and purchasing food staples such as flour and sugar from suppliers outside of Georgia; these donations helped fuel local demand for goods produced within Georgia rather than being shipped abroad! After the war ended in 1945, much of what had been left behind from earlier decades were abandoned or converted into apartments or other uses - but withstood numerous visits over ensuing decades by artists looking for inspiration for their own work!
