The first shot fired from a gun in this area was documented on July 4th, 1812 by Captain John Smith as he opened fire on a group of Cherokee Indians. This event is considered to be the beginning of firearms usage in Georgian Bay. In 1895, Bainbridge became one of the first communities in Georgia to outlaw smoking cigars and cigarettes. This prohibition helped spur the development of local industries that produce ammunition and other products related to firearms. Today, Bainbridge is home to several local businesses that continue producing firearms-related items such as ammunition and gun parts. One of the oldest businesses in town is Harry Wesson & Sons Ammunition store which has been operating since 1892. Harry Wesson & Sons specializes in all types of shotgun rounds including birdshot, buckshot, slugs, pistols and machine guns. In addition to ammunition, Harry Wesson & Sons also sells handguns and rifle components. Another business that has been operating for many years is Gadsden Arsenal which produces artillery rounds such as smokeless projectiles used by cannons and mortars throughout Central America and South America. As well, Gadsden Arsenal produces reloading supplies for both shotguns and rifles as well as muzzleloader cartridges for use with target practice or hunting deer or hogs! By 1861*, rifle ammo production had dwindled significantly due to increased military spending on the American Civil War*. However, starting in 1865*, manufacturing resumed at the Athens Armory*(*See "Ages of Weaponry: Firearms Manufacturing Districts", appendix B) due to technological advances which made reloading easier than ever before*. This allowed artillery pieces like cannons and mortars to be fired continuously without having to worry about stopping or reloading them frequently.* (*See also "The Beginnings of Gun Manufacturing in America" for more details on this period.) Bainbridge is a small town in metro Atlanta, Georgia. The population was 3,827 at the 2000 census. It is part of the city of Decatur. Bainbridge was founded by businessmen Isaac and John Bainbridge in 1834 as a trading post on the Chattahoochee River. In 1847, Isaac's brother John founded the town of Decatur to serve as its eastern terminus. Bainbridge became an incorporated municipality in 1924 and has since been home to a variety of businesses, including carriers Air Cargo (now Delta Air Lines) and Amerigen Mutual Insurance Company. The local paper mill closed in 2006 but remains intact as a museum. The town also hosts the annual Christmas parade which typically features more than 100 vehicles and 500 people marching down Main Street.

Bainbridge is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,792 at the 2010 census. Bainbridge is located on the east side of the main river in central Fulton County. It was founded by Captain James Bainbridge and his wife Elizabeth in 1794. The original store was built on this site. The present day Bainbridge sprang up around a post office which was established in 1853. In 1891, the name change to Bainbridge after James A. Bainbridge III who served as governor of Georgia from 1893 to 1895 and 1899 to 1901. He also served as chairman of the board of trustees for Gwinnett Technical College from 1907 until his death in 1912. After he died, his widow became executor of his estate and continued to manage that institution until her death in 1950s-1960s In 1969, when Gwinnett County merged with Roswell into one county, Bainbridge became part of Roswell Township (renamed Roswell at that time). However, it reverted back to its original name again upon incorporation into Fulton County in 2000 Bainbridge is situated on both sides of the main river which makes it an ideal location for a small town with plenty of activities including shopping, dining out and rural living It has been reported that many people move here because there are no job opportunities closer to home Some residents have even started their own businesses

In 1824, Bainbridge became the first town in Georgia to be granted incorporation as a county seat. By 1870, Bainbridge had become one of the leading cotton towns in the state. In 1911, Bainbridge was renamed for John F. Kennedy after he was elected president of the United States
