However, some 25 years later there were still numerous black residents living within walking distance of downtown Augusta without any form of institutionalized racism present today! Since then many new faces have entered Savannah’s vibrant nightlife scene while businesses have closed their doors or relocated away from downtown areas such as southside shopping districts due to development pressures from surrounding communities only seeming interested in developing tax-friendly properties that are adjacent/near luxury hotels etcetera instead of creating quality jobs & neighborhoods that can support local citizens (& families) economically & culturally...
