Ammunition history in Augusta, Georgia stretches back over a century. The city was founded by the British in 1824 as Fort Moultrie, and was named for General James McAllister Moultrie, who helped lead the American Revolution. Throughout its history, Augusta has been a center for ammunition production and Commerce. In 1907, Augusta became the first city to issue city stamps to commemorate its annual production of ammunition. The first armories were built in Augusta in 1824 and 1828. By 1840, there were fifteen armories in the town. Ammunition production began to increase during the Civil War due to demand from both Union forces and Confederate troops. Between 1861-1865, Augusta produced an estimated 20 million rounds of ammunition. During the Reconstruction era following the Civil War, Augusta resumed its role as one of the leading munitions producers in South Carolina and Georgia. In 1927, Mayor Worthy proposed that City Hall be turned into an ammo depot to help support local munitions industry. On November 3rd of that year, City Council unanimously approved plans for what would become known as "The Armory". The new depot was opened on December 1st of that year and quickly became one of Augusta's most popular tourist attractions. In recent years, however, artillery guns have become increasingly difficult or impossible to obtain traditional arms grade ammunition for use within civilian populations outside direct military service (e.g., police officers). As such unloaded rounds are becoming more common among civilians across America (and occasionally other parts of the world), it is important to remember that even though many Rounds magazine pockets may not still hold live rounds today - they did so during much earlier times when ammo literacy wasn't ubiquitous or easy/commonly accessible

In 1593, Portugueseman Bartolomeu Dias patented an improved type of gunpowder called capriccio (capricious). This new type of powder allowed artillerymen to fire more shots per minute than previously possible with traditional designs. The weapon that resulted from this invention was the cannon, which became one of the most important weapons in human history. In addition to cannons, arrows were also extensively used in warfare beginning in ancient Greece and Rome. Arrows were made from hardwood or bamboo shafts some twenty inches long and three degrees wide; these shafts were covered with felt or linen wrappings and then filled with lead or iron shot pellets weighing up to two ounces each. Arrows were released through frameworks such as ropes attached at one end to tree limbs or stakes; these framework arrows are sometimes still found around certain parts of Europe

In 1870, Augusta became the first municipality in Macon County to be established as a City. On July 1, 1907, Augusta became a Town under the provisions of the General Laws of Georgia Annotated (1892). It is one of only two cities in Georgia with both an incorporated status and full voting rights within its city limits. The only professional baseball team based in Augusta is the Augusta Blue Jackets who play their home games at Greater Gwinnett Park located just outside downtown

In 1802, Augusta was renamed Atlanta after General Andrew Jackson's victory over the British at Battle of Yorktown. In 1885, Augusta became the capital of Georgia and remained so until 1959.
