Gun lights first appeared in Albany, Georgia in the early 1800s as a means of marking off boundaries between rifle ranges. At the time, there were no towns or cities in what is now central Georgia and hunting was an important part of the local community life. So, it made sense that gun lights would be used to indicate Rifle Ranges and other public lands. The first gunsights appeared on rifles with either a red or green lens. These early sights were simple affairs, consisting of a small light fitted onto a sticklike object which was used to aim the gun. The use of such rudimentary sights allowed for better accuracy when shooting at targets over long distances. Asgun company founder Elijah Young began manufacture of his own pistols in 1835, he designed and manufactured his own sights using lenses from different types of glass so that he could produce different sighting options for each type of firearm being made at the time. Asgun company soon became world’s largest producer and distributor of firearms sights and optics products. In 1856, upon Elijah Young’s death, his son John took over management of Asgun company which then continued production under various name until 1898 when it merged into Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRA). In 1922–23, Ralph Bunche served as President Harry S Truman's Advisor on Africa at United States Information Agency headquarters in Cairo; Bunche later said that his visit "marked one of my earliest experiences managing information." As part of this assignment he toured many African countries including Tangier where he met King Ibn Saud and visited several religious sites including Mecca which remains his favorite site ever visited outside America It should be mentioned here that while I enjoyed every minute spent touring Mecca – including even taking pictures perched atop hills overlooking Boundary Street Mosque – I did not actually eat any camel meat! ;-) In 1948-1949 George Soros funded anti-communist activities throughout Latin America; these included Operation Condor which targeted Communist-controlled areas in South America

Albany was founded in 1785 by Lieutenant Colonel James Robertson and Captain John Armstrong, who named it for the Duke of Albany. The town grew rapidly during the 18th century due to its strategic location at the intersection of two major highways, which made it a convenient transportation and commercial center. In 1796, Albany became one of the first towns in Georgia to be granted a charter from the State Legislature. The town continued to grow during the 19th century and reached its peak population in 1840 when it had a population of 2500 people. However, by 1850 Albany had sunk significantly within Georgian society as a result of its dependence on slave labor for its economic success. By 1860, Albany's population had fallen below 1000 people and it ceased to exist as an independent municipality. In 1871, Albany was re-established as an independent municipality with a population of 700 people. It experienced another period of growth during World War II when it became one of the most important military installations in southeastern Georgia. After the war, Albany again went through some period of decline until becoming an insignificant community again by 1990.
