In Spring of 2018, a group of students in Winter Springs, Florida decided to start a t-shirt company called "Firearm T-Shirts" in order to promote firearm violence prevention and education. They were inspired by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's "Crime Prevention Tips for Gun Owners" campaign which features shirts with slogans like "Don't be an statistic" and "Who wants to be a statistic? Choose gun safety." The students quickly realized that they could make their own shirt design and sell them online, but they needed help starting up their business. They reached out to local artists and started selling prints on Instagram and Facebook. In just a few months, the team had produced over 100 shirts! Since its inception, Firearms T-Shirts has helped raiseawareness about firearms violence and its impact on communities across the United States. With each purchase, we hope to educate someone about how firearms can be used safely and responsibly. We want to spread awareness about this important issue so that everyone can prevent tragedies from happening. Thank you for supporting our cause!

The first post office opened in 1903, and during World War I, the town served as an airfield for American forces flying combat missions over Europe. In 1971, when Fall Branch Township merged into Polk County, Winter Springs became part of that township's jurisdiction; however it retained its own government including elections and certain limited services such as fire protection.
