Winter Park is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 27,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Downtown Combined Statistical Area. The site of Winter Park was purchased by David Ralston in 1884 from J.M. Cooke and James Kelly for $1,000 dollars. In 1907, the city was incorporated as a result of an act of the Florida Legislature which authorized annexation by Palm Beach County. The first mayor of Winter Park was Averell Harriman who served from 1912 to 1916 and again from 1918 to 1921; he also chaired the City Council for two years during that time period. During World War II, many soldiers/ Sailors were housed in winter quarters at Winter Park until they could be moved into warmer climates nearer to combat theaters overseas currently there are several properties within or adjacent to Winter Park that have been leased or bought by businesses who want to use them for training purposes (examples include: US Air Force Academy; Marriotts Resort & Casino; Disney’s Wilderness Lodge). One major attraction that has taken place in recent years on nearby Mesquite Road is the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony which takes place at 7 p.m., just south of town limits on State Route 441/Old Cutler Road near Mesquite Rd./Asbury Dr./Lake Worth Rd.–the tree lighting will continue until shortly before sunrise next year!

Winter Park is a village in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,836 at the 2010 census. It was incorporated on December 5, 1924. Winter Park became a municipality on December 7, 1959. The Village of Winter Park is now included in the City of Orlando. The first permanent settler in what is now Winter Park was George Wetherbee who arrived in 1814 and named his land "Winter Park." He sold some property to John Carpenter and James Aird in 1827. In 1829 Hiram Smith bought the piece of land that would become Winter Park from Wetherbee. In 1831 Mrs. Anna Green purchased one hundred acres (40 hectares) near present-day Westgate Shopping Center from Jesse Livermore for $5,000 cash only! One hundred years later an additional 105 acres (41 hectares) were added to the village limits bringing it to its current size of 1,836 residents! A post office called Wintersville was established at this location on November 10, 1830 by Jno Crouch with patents from President Andrew Jackson as Part No 2159 & Patent No 9362 granted October 25th 1832 On July 3rd 1860 Isaac Boudreau opened up a general store and two hotels/motels called the Eiffel Tower and Plaza Hotel which still stand today near downtown WinterPark! This plaza hotel burned down during an arson attack on February 15th 1961 but left behind some beautiful marble tiles which remain today as part of the wall inside Dr Phillips Children’s Hospital across State Road 17 south from where we now stand! It should be noted that these hotels/motels were located right next door to each other just northwest of Lake Nona with plenty of room for businesses both inside and outside without having too much trouble accommodating customers between them ! Today you can walk or take bus tours around these historical sites all within walking distance from your home or office !! What a delightful history lesson indeed !! After being founded by Isaac Boudreau on July 3rd 1860 as "The Eiffel Tower Hotel", this building served as a meeting place for settlers throughout their journey westward into Polk County! This building also housed courtrooms until 1913 when they moved into Springwood courthouse which is now known as Legacy Hall!!! After years of hard work by local citizens including Solomon Northcutt who donated land for a public square which later became Central Avenue within our boundaries (now Northlake Drive), Frost Construction Company built what is currently known as South Main Street within our boundaries!! Today many people enjoy coming here after watching Sunrise over Central Avenue while sipping hot cocoa surrounded by beautiful landscaping just minutes away !! What more could you ask for?
Winter Park was founded in 1892 as a small town on the east side of Lake Okeechobee. It grew rapidly due to its location and access to the water, and by 1916 had become a self-sufficient community with its own school, health clinic, police department, post office, and small businesses.
