The history of target shooting in Winter Park, Florida began with the creation of a small range on the corner of Northwest Second Street and East Morse Avenue in 1912. The original Target National Shooting Club was organized by members of the local Chamber of Commerce to provide an opportunity for citizens to shoot at targets indoors. The club moved to its current location in 1930 and continued to offer target shooting opportunities until 1965, when it closed its doors forever. Since then, many different organizations have sponsored or participated in target shootings events at Winter Park’s ranges. In 1984, the first state-wide sanctioned target shooting championships were held at the park; since then, there have been numerous national and internationalitational competitions both indoors and outdoors at Winter Park. These tournaments often feature top caliber shooters from around the world. In addition to hosting varioustargeting events throughout the year,Winter Park also offers a wide variety of outdoor activities such as: hiking, fishing, boating, golfing, sledding and skating; making it one of South Florida’s most popular tourist destinations for visitors seeking some traditional winter fun!

Winter Park is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 26,513 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Winter Park was first settled in 1868 by German immigrants who named it "Wintererpark". The name stuck and the town changed its name to Winter Garden in 1915. In 1922, Winter Garden annexed neighbouring unincorporated area of Spring Hill and became a city. The annexation caused heavy growth as people from Spring Hill started moving into Winter Garden to escape high taxes and traffic congestion on their streets. In 1959, Winter Garden merged with adjoining Stonington to form a second city called New City which had a population of 38,000 by 1992. On November 5, 1998, Winter Park reverted back to its original name and boundaries when it rejoined the combined municipalities of New City and Spring Hills as WintersPark again. The arrival of theme parks in the 1970s led to an increase in spending by residents for recreation and leisure activities outside of work or school; this increased demand has driven prices for real estate within WintersPark up more than 50%. Development along US-41 (the main thoroughfare through WintersPark) has also increased with new restaurants, shops, condominiums and hotels opening up since 2006; making it one of fastest-growing communities throughout Central Florida. There are plans underway for another large theme park – likely located near downtown – that would add thousands more jobs to the community’s economy while bringing much-needed attention to WintersPark’s pedestrian infrastructure which has been lagging behind other central FL communities."

At first they leased land from Captain John Fenton which included present dayAsbury Drive and Sunrise Drive. In 1912, George Wirth donated 2 acres (0 hectares) for a park which would later be called Winterpark Oval. On July 4th 1916, Mayor Harry Pugh dedicated what would eventually become Downtown Winterpark with an audience including President Woodrow Wilson who spoke on behalf of Congresswoman Lucy Stone! After World War II endedemployment withinthe municipal government dwindled so City Manager James Aiken developed plans for downtown development which led to today's architecture along with numerous businesses lending their names to nearby streets such as First Avenue North & Washington Street NW., Channing Square East & Little Havana Road Southwest - now known as MidtownMiami! Downtown Winpark also includes key infrastructure features such as water systems, sewers and Streetscapes that have seen continuous refinement throughout its history while still managing To remain visually appealing today; most notably: The massive addition of new glass domes atop Eisman Tower just steps away from Downtown Winpark Plaza - home to multiple restaurants/bars/stores/ theatres etc...winterizing everything inside by freezing or thawing out structures prior to your visit !!!
