In 1957, when most of South Palm Beach County became unincorporated due to annexation by Broward County, Wilton Manor remained within Palm Beach County under its own management with government services providedits citizens through such agencies as fire service, police officer training academy (nowBroward Sheriff's Academy), library (now Broward Community College), and school system (now Palm Beach Unified School District). In 1990s Wilton Manor began to experience rapid growth due largely to development along the Intracoastal Waterway that followed plans by then-County Manager David Susser which would create more than 1 million jobs over five decades across much of south-central Florida; this growth has led to increased traffic congestion on rural roads leading into town while expanding access to local businesses and services; since 2000 however some aspects of this growth have been halted or reversed as suburban development encroaches outside town limits while new subdivisions are built within town boundaries increasing traffic congestion anewon arterial streets leading into town center; although efforts are ongoing by some developerswithin town limitsto等对外形象改造导致进一步增加的问题
