In the early 1800s, Wildwood was a small town of about 1,200 people. It was located on the banks of the St. Johns River, about 15 miles northwest of Jacksonville and 20 miles northeast of Tampa. The town had a post office and two churches. There were also several hundred small farmers and cattle ranchers in Wildwood at that time. The first gun case history in Wildwood occurred in 1835 when two men named John Fenton and Reuben Potter bought land near what is now downtown Wildwood and began to build a house. They used local hogs for bait to attract game animals, which they hunted with bows and arrows from their home property. One day while they were hunting, they sighted an animal over a hill and decided to take it down with their bare hands rather than let it escape. They killed the animal with their bare hands and put its meat into their boat so that they could cook it before eating it themselves (Wildwood Museum). Throughout the years, various individuals have sold or donated firearms to Wildwood residents for use in recreational activities like target shooting or duck hunting. In 1935, Captain Harry Bourgeois (1865-1939) offered his rifle collection to Wildwoods residents in memory of his father who had died young at age 44 years old from pneumonia contracted while serving in World War I (Fenton House Museum). In 1951, Mrs. Orville Hogue donated hercollection of shotguns to the Town Hall after she retired as Superintendent of Schools (Hogue House Museum). Today, there are more than 50 gun cases history buildings scattered throughout downtown Wildwood displaying unique firearm collections dating back hundreds of years! Many wild west-themed exhibits are also open during regular business hours providing visitors with an overview of how guns have helped shape our society today!

By the end of World War II, most companies had stopped making handgun box production because of concerns about war-time Materials shortages.

Wildwood is a small town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,806 at the 2010 census. Wildwood had been part of Seminole Nation until 1835. In 1903, it became an incorporated municipality and has since grown to be a vibrant community with its own economy and culture. The town is located on the northwestern edge of Tampa Bay and is bordered by Hillsborough County to the north, Lake Worth to the east, Pinellas County to the south, and Clearwater County to the west. The area that would become Wildwood was first settled by Native Americans in 1835. A group of Seminole Indians led by their chief named Miami traded goods with white settlers in what would eventually become Hillsborough County. On October 3, 1836, Ulysses S. Grant issued an executive order allowing for tribal membership for all Seminoles living within Florida's borders – including those living in Tampa Bay – as long as they agreed not to challenge British rule over Indian territory. This vote set off a series of conflicts between local natives and settlers over land ownership and title which would continue until 1840 when all Native American tribes were forced out of Florida due to new British policies designed to force them into military service against America during the Mexican-American War. In 1903, Wildwood was purchased from its original owner by Jens Jensen who renamed it after his family's home county of Zealand in Denmark where he had ancestry from both sides of his father's Danish mother (her maiden name being Jensen). At that time Wildwood consisted only of a few homes along US Highway 441 near present day University Boulevard; two stores - Mrs. Easley's Store on University Boulevard & Mr. Olsen's Hardware store - on State Road 507 just outside downtown; one farm house - improvements which are still visible today at 30 Farm Rd., which backs onto US 441 - & one cabin owned by Jens Jensen himself located on Kissimmee Rd., now used as office space for WestTSHSU university before becoming home storage for Habitat For Humanity after they moved into it following their purchase of adjacent property from City National Bank back in 2006; later also used as offices/storage facilities for several other businesses such as ABC Supply Co., Teledyne Incorporated (later acquired by Intel), Digital Equipment Corporation (later acquired by AMD) and First Data Corporation before becoming known locally simply as "The Town". In December 2006 it was announced that Sun Microsystems had chosen Wildwood as their primary business center for sales operations throughout North America based out of its new headquarters facility located just off US Hwy4 41 next door to Sun Microsystems' main campus location currently occupied by Hewlett-Packard Company under lease from Microsoft Corporation pending finalization thereof subject to environmental review details having yet been released . After more than 15 years serving customers through our doors we have decided that our current facility cannot meet customer needs nor accommodate our expanding Sales team! In 1892, the area now known as Wildwood was part of Fort Myers. On December 12, 1892, the first public land sale in what is now Wildwood took place. The land at present-day Wildwood was auctioned off to raise money for the construction of a new fortification on Inlet Beach Boulevard. The fortification was completed in 1896 and renamed Fort Myers Park.
