Wildwood is a small town in Broward County, Florida. It is located on the shores of Jupiter Lake and has a population of about 8,000 people. The town was founded in 1875 by settlers from Georgia and was originally named Wildwood Haven. In 1899, the name was changed to Wildwood because it then included all of Jupiter Lake. The town had its first gunshow in 1903 and has held annual shows for over seventy years. The history of Wildwood's gun protection system began with the installation of an automatic machinegun at one of the local businesses, which served as the town's first police station. In 1923, the town installed its first fence around its perimeter and instituted regulations against open gunfire within city limits. A year later, Wildwood established a fire arm permit program that allowed residents to purchase firearms for personal protection purposes. In 1935, Wildwood erected its first alarm clock to warn residents if there were any incidents during night time that would cause fear for their safety. The alarm clock also used voice recognition technology to allow residents to place calls without having to type out their addresses or phone numbers. From 1937 through 1952,Wildwood enjoyed financial stability due to high production rates for ammunition products exported from their factory outside Miami Beach (then called "the Docks"). However, due to World War II military buildup in South Florida and increased demand for firearms domestically (due in part to changes in American society following World War I), production slowed down markedly and ended altogether after 1945; this left Wildwood with only six handguns available for public use at any given time[1]. However, despite being low-production volume pistols only meant for law enforcement use at best,[2], these handguns still saw some limited use throughout most of the 1970s through early 1980s when new ATF regulations changed how handgun ownership could be registered[3]. These requirements mandated handgun registration regardless of how much ammo was possessed(and even though many people who were licenses owners/purchasers never used those weapons). As such many guns seen circulation among private citizens throughout this decade including some fielded by Law Enforcement Officers themselves--exactly what those officers needed since they now couldn't just pickup any old firearm off the street and register it! This change helped spur development efforts leading up to GunFreeFlorida's passage which overturned these restrictions completely[4] making Wild Woods one Self Defense State finally able)safe from domestic violence!

Wildwood is a small town in Monroe County, Florida. It is located on the east side of the state and has an estimated population of 2,500 people. The area that makes up Wildwood was originally part of Fort Myers Island. In 1853, the United States government sold Fort Myers Island to private citizens for $2,000. The island was then divided into two parts and renamed Wildwood and East Fort Myers Islands. Wildwood was first settled in 1855 by Dutch families who were looking for land to farm after they lost their colonies in Suriname and Netherlands America. The Dutch name for Wildwood was "Willemstadt". In 1887, the Miami-Dade Railroad came through Wildwood and changed the name from Willemstadt to Wildwood. In 1912, a fire destroyed much of what remained of Ft Myers Island so wildwoods development began immediately on what would become its current boundaries. In 1916, all but four homes in what is today known as WildWood were destroyed during a fire that burned throughout most ofFort Myers Island because it had been built without proper permits or inspections. All but one home at 5th Street and Old State Road (now US 1) still stands today as a testament to how popular wildwoods growth became over time. The first post office serving Wild Woods opened on July 14th 1898 with three mailboxes inside the old Trading Post building which still stands today next door to IGA grocery store near center square mall across from Starbucks Coffee Company - now Macy's Gift Shop! From this small outpost until 1941 when it closed due to lack of customers due to World War II there wasn’t even a ZIP code for Forest Hills Beach until January 6th 1961 when!'" (Wildwoods website). In 1951 sawthe openingofthefirstconcreteblockandpaved road intotheareaaftermanyyearsofdirtroadtravelingonundevelopedlandsidesowithnothingbutadventureastoexplorethesenewterritories.(Milton Hennepin Gazette article). By 1959 only 10%ofthepopulationofWildWoodwasstillDutchbecauseofthelossoffortmyersislandduringWorldWarII.(Lenny Bruce interview). A new post office called Maple Leaf opened November 25th 1959 with five mailbox inside old school annex which still stands today across from Walmart Supercenter just off FM 27 north of IGA food store also known as GASOPEXI & more recently; PEMCO Arena(Florida Panthers Hockey Club) .Today Maple Leaf Post Office serves as community hall with many events going on such as 4x6 photo booth Fridays local art show monthly pavers golf tournament springsymphony concert series etc... Examples include: high school basketball games pep rallies Marine Corps recruitment event football game club meetings band concerts movie shows farmers markets etc...Changesovertimeinclude:buildingamaximumstorehouse(1999),movingpostofficetoacouplehouses(2002),remodelinginterioralsomeparts(2009),renovationstocommunityhall(2015)). With so much history packed into such little space; it's no wonder whywildwoods residents are some of SoFla's most passionate about their community!

Wildwood was founded in 1851 by John Wesley Wildwood and his brother, James. The town was named for a wooded area just outside the present-day town limits. In 1856, the United States Congress granted land to the Wildwoods for a cotton plantation. The plantation failed and John Wesley Wildwood sold it to J.P. Morgan in 1865. Morgan renamed the plantation "Morgan's Florida" and also built a large mansion there called "The White House". In 1884, Morgan died and his estate passed to his son, James P. Morgan Jr., who donated most of the land within present-day Wildwood to create Polk County Park in memory of his father. A state park was also created on adjacent land in 1934 by then-Governor Lawton Chiles in memory of General William Tilton Clay (1812-1885). Today, wildWOOD is home to more than 100 businesses including many that are constituent parts of Polk County Parks like Waterford Fisheries & Wildlife Conservation Center and Polk State Fairgrounds which together provide services such as waterfowl hunting/feeding, camping/hiking/kayaking/canoeing/flowers & fruit trees; golf; tennis; horseback riding; fishing; bird watching; picnics or weddings (especially during Fourth of July); trails leading into nearly every conceivable direction imaginable - making it one of America's most popular tourist destinations year round!
