However, during World War II Weston lost much of its economic significance due to the war effort and then declined greatly after the war ended. Today Weston is a small rural community with only about 10 people living there full-time.
Weston, Florida was founded by the Seminoles in 1835. The area was later annexed by Jacksonville, Florida in 1922.
