Other notable businesses that have operated within or near Weston include Gulfstream Airlines (now Delta Air Lines), United States Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (now home to Naval Air Station Jacksonville), and Rollins College which is located just east of town on Highway 4A

Weston, Florida is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. It is bordered by the city of Tampa to the south and east, and Plant City to the north. The population was 2,854 at the 2010 census. The area that now became Weston was first settled by pioneers in 1845. When Tampa was founded in 1853, it included what is now Weston as well as other areas around Hillsborough County. In 1904, after Tampa's annexation by Jacksonville, some of the land that would eventually become Weston was annexed into that city as well. On December 15th of that year, a vote was held to incorporate Weston into Jacksonville. In 1915, when World War I began, many American soldiers were stationed in Europe and didn't have time to return home before the war ended. This created a shortage of workers in America and so businesses began hiring foreign workers instead. The most famous example of this was Jack Dempsey's fight against Joe Louis in 1918. American factories needed workers and so they started using Foreign Worker Act laws to get these workers from countries like Russia and China without having to licitly bring them over here on their own or hiring them throught an agency like Ellis Island. This caused a lot of tension between Americans who wanted their jobs back and those who believed that these people were taking away jobs from American citizens (some believe this even led to violence). Many people also regarded Weston as being part of Jacksonville because it was annexed there during WWI; however, there wasn't actually any connection between Weston and Jacksonville until afterWWII when things started changing for the better with development along Interstate 4 corridor coming through town (This corridor later became known as "The Strip"). In 1983-1984 an ice cream plant called Java Joes opened up shop in what is now downtown Weston which quickly became one of the most popular tourist destinations in town thanks to its unique flavor profile (Java Joes closed down in 2001). During this time period there were also several other businesses open up including a music store called Rhythm & Blues Records which still stands today on Main Street; a convenience store called Gatorade; and finally a movie theater named Cineplex Westwood which still exists today across from midfield stadium/parking lot on State Road A1A (which has since been renamed Raymond James Stadium). All three businesses remain open currently but are no longer operated as restaurants or retail stores due to competition from more recent developments within town limits such as Trader Joe's Marketplace whichopened up next door in 2013 adjacent to Hudson’s Bay Shopping Center though neither business remains operational today.)
