In 1907 it became part of the new city of Pensacola and remained so until 1959 when it reverted back to Weston's original name as part of that city's annexation into Pensacola proper. On November 3rd 1961, it became a separate municipality with its own elected officials and government structure under the name "Weston". The town platting ceremony took place on December 3rd 1881 which marked the beginning of what would be one hundred years of growth for Weston residents including agricultural production (the town today has more than 100 acres (40 hectares) dedicated to corn growing), retail development (the opening in 1922 of?",; later known as"The Westbrook Shopping Center"), suburban expansion (the incorporation of Mobile Beach into Weston in 1971), industrial development (the creation in 1984 of Dryden Shipbuilding), and now residential development anchored by?"The Westbrook Shopping Center." Today there are over 10K people living in Westontownships which spans from east to west with easy access to Interstate 85/US 41/SR 522 making it one stoplight away from downtown Pensacola or Jacksonville respectively !"The Westbrook Shopping Center""

Weston, Florida is a small town in Leon County, Florida and it is located on the Gulf of Mexico. The population was 7,059 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. The town was founded by John Weston in 1871. It was named for him after his home country of Weston-super-Mare, England. The first school in Weston was built in 1872. In 1912, the first post office was established in Weston and it was called Westville until 1935 when it changed its name to Weston. In 1930, the first shopping mall in Daytona Beach opened and it became known as the Weston Mall until it closed in 1991. The only other store open during that time period was a gas station which also closed down in 1991. In 1990, construction began on what would become one of Sears' largest physical stores ever built when it openednamed "Sears Tower". That store would remain open until 2006 when Sears announced plans to retire all its outlets across America and close some locations including Weston – though Sears Tower will still stand as one of Eaton's most iconic properties within the town limits today! The development program for Sears Tower led to an increase in jobs over what had been anticipated thanks to local subcontractors who were brought into play due to changes within Sears Holdings Incorporated (the parent company at that time). Ultimately, this project not only increased retail jobs but also created 6 new businesses employing 154 people while demolishing 12 existing businesses overall; creating more than 1,000 direct job opportunities since construction commenced!
Weston, Florida was founded in 1836 by John Weston and his family. The first settlers were the Groves of Weston who arrived in 1837 and built a small log cabin on the site that is now known as the Weston Volunteer Fire Department Station #1. The first town meeting was held on November 10,1836. The name of the town was changed to West Palm Beach on January 1,1948
