The Target Holder Company was founded in 1917 by John P. Fenton and his brother-in-law, Harry Crouch. They used windlass guns to shoot targets out of large metal frames that could be set up anywhere on the beach. The Target Holder Company became very successful and eventually produced over 1,000 different models of target holders. Many were exported to other countries, including Canada and Mexico. In 1974, John Fenton passed away and his son took over the company. The Firm continued production until it closed in 1988. Today, there are still some original Target Holder Company models remaining on hand as collectors items. Some have been modified to include electronic sights or even lasers for added fun!

During its early years as an agricultural operation, however, WestPark had more in common with today's Kendall neighborhood west of downtown than it does with today's NWP/SEP boundary line. Both areas were originally rural farmland until annexation by Miami In 1961; thus they continue to maintain significant amounts of historical architecture including homes built before annexation that are still extant today within those boundaries."

West Park is a small town in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St Petersburg–Clearwater metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now West Park was Harry Biddle who arrived in 1855. He named his land "Biddle's Prairie," after him and his son John Biddle. After several years of farming, Biddle built a log cabin in 1859 and started trading with Indians on the Seminole Trail. In 1861, he married Anna Maria McNamara from Clearwater and they began to raise crops and sell goods from their farmstead until 1865 when they sold the farm to J.P. Morgan for $5,000 cash. J.P.'s younger brother Edward Morgan bought it back from them in 1875 for $10,000 more cash! In 1897-98 Fenton Ewing developed an orange grove on land that had been donated by Wm Hines (brother-in-law of Jules Verne). By 1900 there were over 100 trees producing oranges that could be shipped to markets all over the world! West Park was founded on the east side of Jacksonville in 1892 by Dr. J.F.P. Stockton and his wife, Sarah McAllister Stockton. The first post office at West Park was opened in 1893. In 1907, the town became a city and West Park became its central business district. On January 1, 1925, the Central Florida Regional Hospital opened in West Park and it is still in use today as Jacksonville's only hospital.
