West Park is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 46,495 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. West Park occupies a tract of land east of Downtown Miami between the Biscayne Bay and Southern Beach areas and south of MidtownMiami on the edge of The Plantation Country community. The first people to live in what is now West Park were Native Americans who gathered around Lake Okeechobee for fishing and hunting. By 1795, Etowah Indians had already built some structures in what is now West Park. In 1824 Spanish traders founded Fort Santa Ana de los Baños on present day US-1 just outside of town limits to trade with the Seminole Tribe located to the north. In 1826 Henry Flagler bought all that lay between Miami and Jupiter including most of what is now MidtownMiami, although he did not have title to it yet because he had not paid taxes on it since 1821. He named his purchase "Flagler's Choice" after himself and named one corner near Boynton Beach "Okeechobee". After many years as an Indian trader flagler developed into one of South Florida's largest landowners with over 5,000 acres (2 km²). His heirs continue to own large tracts within today's boundaries of West Park (including parts adjacent to current-day MidtownMiami) as well as portions extending into Broward County across from Palm Beach County across from Martin County In 1906 when Great Depression began American Samoan immigrants arrived seeking work in Sun Valley citrus fields campaign by Roosevelt’s New Deal seeking relief for starving minorities throughout America during Great Depression era called 'Operation JOBS'. Upon arrival they were met by local residents who numbered about 100 men organized into two gangs - Englishmen (Gangs 1 & 3) and Samoans (Gangs 2 & 4). This led to much hostility until President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed Mayor Manuel Avila as Coordinator of Public Instruction which helped solve problem with lack training/employment opportunities among newcomers while also providing social services like health care which helped improve mental condition among Latinos during hard times

West Park was first formed in 1892 when the town of West Palm Beach decided to annex land from Boca Raton. The annexation happened because part of the cost of getting the town off the ground was buying all of the land east and north of Boca Raton Boulevard. The town developed around two main avenues, Allen Street and Flagler Street. The area now known as West Park was originally a small farming community with about 100 residents. Most people in those days worked on farms or raised chickens or pigs. Some people also did some manufacturing and trading in those early days. In 1907, a group of businessmen bought 1,000 acres (500 hectares) east of Boca Raton Boulevard for $2 million dollars to develop what would become West Park. This area would include much of what is now downtown West Palm Beach. The development boom that followed led to many new businesses opening up in West Park, including banks, grocery stores, theaters, and restaurants. In 1959, when Interstate 95 was built through the area, parts of West Park were destroyed by a fire that burned for days. However, most of the damage had been done by earlier construction projects that hadn’t been planned properly and had caused extensive destruction. Today, it’s one of South Florida’s most vibrant communities with many businesses still open and active dating back to the early 1900s

In 1957, construction began on what would become Walt Disney World's first theme park - Epcot - which opened to the public on October 3, 1958. For many years it served as home to both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom; both parks were closed down during their respective revivals in 1992 and 2003 respectively. Until recently much of the center of Town Square had been vacant or used for parking lot expansions for businesses adjacent to Walt Disney World properties including Touchstone Pictures Studios (now Universal Studios Florida) from whence came Michael Jackson'sNeverland Ranch; as well as various other movie productions that took place there over time like The Simpsons Movie (2007), Pirates Of Caribbean: At World's End (2011), Aladdin (1992), Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone (2009) etcetera etcetera... Parts were purchased byemethodicaly beginning around 2005-2006 through multiple property ownerships with similar results but finally an agreement has been reached between City of Kissimmee Parks Department & SeaWorld Orlando which will create a large green space surrounding downtown stretching from State Fairgrounds allthe way out to Old Town Square
