West Palm Beach, Florida is home to a rich history of ammunition production. Ammunition has been a part of the community since the 1800s and there are many memorable moments in this long history. The first ammunition produced in West Palm Beach was shotgun rounds. Shotguns were used for hunting deer, turkey, pigeons, and other small game. The rounds were made from leadshot and shot that was either black or green with a brown band around it. There was also a white lead round that was used for target shooting. In 1892, West Palm Beach began producing rifle rounds. Rifle rounds were created to replace shotgun rounds as the primary choice for hunting rifles. Rifle rounds were made from brass instead of leadshot and shot which allowed them to be fired faster and farther than shotguns. They also had a more efficient magazine because they could hold more shots than shotguns did. In 1912, an Ammunition Manufacturing Company was established in West Palm Beach by Aiken Vickers & Sons manufacturers of firearms including revolvers, pistols and shotguns under license from Winchester Repeating Arms Company Ltd., England’s leading firearms company It became known as Vickers-Armstrong Ammunition Incorporated In 1924 it merged with Gold Medal Ammunition Corporation to form American munitions corporation American munitions continued manufacturing rifle cartridges until 1945 when all operations ceased due to World War II military production restrictions

West as a small town on Biscayne Bay. The first post office was established in 1871. By 1888, it had become an important citrus-producing center with plantations adjacent to the bay and early shipyards that built ships for both Confederate and American shipping interests during the American Civil War During World War II, large numbers of Japanese Americans were incarcerated in South Bend and other concentration camps across Florida before being released into Palm Beach County after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 8th 1941 which initiated the warring Pacific Rim conflict known as World War II. The community was devastated by fires that burned throughout 1944 while Army troops were training there; these fires destroyed over half a million acres (240 km2) of forested land, leaving much of what remains today as charred ruins. The city has continued to grow rapidly since opening its borders to include neighboring Boynton Beach in 1994; it now boasts a population over 6 million people spread across more than 350 square miles (1 thousand sq km). Today's economy relies heavily on tourism – with convention centers and resort destinations such as Trump International Golf Club straddling many neighborhoods – education, health care services and engineering industries are also major employers along with some smaller businesses including home builders

As of 2010, it has a population of over 153,000 people and is the most populous city within the Miami-Dade County metropolitan area. The city was founded on December 12, 1896 by Portuguese immigrants. In 1907, West Palm Beach became an incorporated municipality. On May 1, 1912, it became a part of Miami-Dade County. In 1966,West Palm Beach annexed Plantation Key to its boundaries. Today Plantation Key is unincorporated territory within the city limits of West Palm Beach. The history of West Palm Beach dates back to December 12th 1896 when Portuguese immigrants arrived in what is now Miami–Dade County as part of land sales from Spanish colonists who had seized control of Cuba following their victory against French forces at the Battle of Stono Ferry on November 8th that year. The new arrivals were given land east of downtown and began to build homes and businesses soon after they arrived in what would become known as "The Land Bank." On October 15th 1897 incorporation as "West Palm Beach" was granted to the group by Judge John Fenton for $1 per capita with no property qualifications and with the understanding that all property owners would be required to move into town by January 1st 1898 or face arrest should they not comply. By 1899 more than 350 residents had moved into town and business operations were already under way including two hotels (the Park Hyatt Hotel and Governor's Island Hotel), several stores ( hardware store pioneer Wirt Hinton being one), four churches (Methodist Episcopal; First Baptist; cigars maker/poker player Joe Bolen; Episcopal pastor Drury) three schools (grades PreK through 8th grade; high school grades 9 through 12th) plus fourteen dwellings used for storage or vacation rentals during winter months only six remained unoccupied because no real estate could be found until season started again on April 1st 1900 which included both outer Harbor Boulevard Extension northward across Municipal Pier #2 extending westward past Sounder Avenue - commonly known today as Old Town Southport street grid - joining Public Square where now stands City Hall east side extension southward from Western Boulevard Grounds between Government Place Gardens east side extensions to present day Stuart Avenue northeast corner alignment with present day first Street NE corner alignment Northwest Corner alignment with present day site line between them formingNW Frontage Road extending easterly from western Boundary Line running along SW frontage road thence northerly along said boundary line Proper name change effective date June 6 th 1902 when organization changed name form "West palm beach september 11 th 1901" making it official "West palm bay september 11 th 1901 Incorporating on December 12TH 1896". It should also be noted that according to published records there were originally 10 families who Immigrated here totaling 20 members having been given 3 lots each valued at $100 each giving rise today's total value for this group at over $6000+.
