In recent years, tourism has become one of Vero Beach's main sources of income and growth; today, it is home to more than 3,000 businesses employing over 50% women and youths aged 12–24 are among its top earners. The city is located on US 1 between Sarasota County and Manatee County with access only from exit 9B off I-75/SR 726 eastbound (exit 339A from SR 726 westbound). Interstate 441 passes through town limits but no exits are available within town limits for either direction; accordingly, allaccess entrances must be reached via US 1 from outside town limits (Easter Island Drive/Vera Rubinovna Boulevard), which can be difficult for tourists unfamiliar with local roads or intersections! One major attraction located within town limits is Florida's only amusement park – Valparaiso USA – which opened in 1984 adjacent to Gulfstream Park Golf Course & Spa Resort and offers a wide variety of amusement rides including water parks such as Six Flags Over Georgia (opened 1997) and Kings Dominion (opened 2003). Other attractions include: The Grand Hyatt hotel - built in 1924 as a summer luxury resort on barrier island just north of downtown - now features full-service restaurants overlooking Sarasota Harbor; numerous stores and services around downtown including pharmacies (FMCG); golf courses including Pensacola Country Club (); several tennis courts located near downtown open late October thru May weather permitting; boat ramps along Sarasota Harbour providing access both upstream intolets used by private vessels docking at Marina Del Rey Marina next door (~1 mile south) as well as downstream intolet used by larger commercial vessels docked at Pier 2 opposite Ferry Landing dockage ($2 per day parking permit required). There are also several scuba diving locations within easy reach such as Shark Reef National Marine Sanctuary (~15 miles southwest) offering world class dive sites backed up against white sand beaches where you can explore coral gardens & schools etc.; there are several horseback riding trails (#4 Horseback Riding Trail inside city limits leads directly into scenic White Sands National Monument ~10 miles northwest). Overall this provides plenty opportunities for activities not just inside the bounds of Verobee but also quite some distance away if desired!

The city of Vero Beach, Florida was founded in 1922 by a group of investors from Jacksonville, Florida. The area that is now Vero Beach was a site for an experimental agricultural experiment called the Jacksonville Experiment Station. The experiment aimed to find a way to grow crops without using pesticides or herbicides. After the experiments were completed, the land that is now Vero Beach was given to the city and it became its primary business district. In 1954, Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act which gave the city of Vero Beach funding to build a military base on its land. The base would be used for training military officers and soldiers. After World War II ended, President Dwight D. Eisenhower decided that there wasn't enough money available to keep the military base open so it closed in 1957. The land on which the naval air station now stands was sold off and used for other purposes until 1959 when it was again gifted to the city of Vero Beach. In 1969, Hurricane Andrew destroyed much of inland Florida so Vero Beach began planning for an all-season beachhead. In 1978, Hurricane Ivan caused extensive damage to coastal regions in south FL so beach officials decided that another all-season beachhead would be necessary because of concerns about storm surge potential during future hurricanes. It wasn't until 1987 when they started construction on what is now known as "the Causeway". This project included creating a new beachfront promenade complete with shops and dining options as well as additional shoreline security features
Vero Beach is located on the east coast of Florida and is part of Brevard County. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1888 by J.P. Morgan as a port town on the Indian River. In 1912, it became a resort town and remains one today with over 80% white residents and 20% African American residents.
