Titusville is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,631 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Titusville" originated from General Titus's headquarters during the Seminole Wars. The first settler in Titusville was John Titus who arrived in 1786. In 1811, James Fenton built a mill on the west side of US-2 and named it after his ancestor Cornelius Fenton. By 1827, there were twelve businesses in Titusville employing over 100 people. In 1828, William Troup founded a gristmill on US-2 south of present-day Lake Wales Boulevard and named it after himself and his brother Thomas Troup (the father of state senator Josephine Troup). By 1830 there were sixteen businesses with over 200 employees in Titusville In 1835, John Ahern erected a log cabin on what is now Fourth Street near what is now State Road 183B. He called it "Ahern's Cabin". By 1840 there were six businesses with over 150 employees in Titusville In 1861, Captain David Boudreau camped for three nights near present day Interstate 495 and called his settlement "Boudreau's Landing". On July 5th he wrote to Governor Andrew Johnson stating that he had been stranded on schedule somewhere between St Augustine and Pensacola due to bad weather while travelling through Central Florida On November 10th 1870, Jno Henson sold four hundred acres (1 km²) east of US-2 north of current day State Road 183 for $4 per acre (1/4 mile). This site became known as "Aiken's Swamp". From this location Henson could see both Lake Wales Boulevard to the east and downtown Tampa to the west across Morningside Swamp which forms today's border between Polk County and Hillsborough County . At that time there were circa 40 residences or farms located within Aiken's Swamp including: Henson’s Millinery Shop; Mrs White’s Store; Mr Lacey’s Ford; Mrs Cochran’s House; Griggs & Co Auctioneer’s Store; Kingman’s Flour Mills; Wm Soper Plumbing Works & Pipe Works.; Capt Robert Ramsey’s Post Office;; Gadsden Cotton Millinery Shop.; Drury Lithographing Establishment;; Elisha Cook Distillery;; Pemberton Cigar Manufacturing Company;; Copley Fruit Co.. In 1886 George Stephenson donated one acre (0.48 km²) southeast of Aiken's swamp for $25 per year until 1925 when it was transferred to Marilla College for use as a tennis court by then Headmaster Revd Samuel Morse PhD The railroad came through Titusville in 1893 followed by truck traffic until 1958 when service was suspended because of high water levels along I-4 corridor

This type of handgun holster quickly spread throughout Europe, becoming very common among both civilians and military personnel alike. Titusville is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,521. The name "Titusville" is derived from Titus Caldwell, an early settler in the area. The first post office in Titusville opened on March 15, 1892. The town was named after Titus Caldwell because he donated land to the town and created a park in honor of his son-in-law General George W. McClellan. The first store in Titusville was built on Main Street by Major J.B. Chappell and operated for about two years before being closed down due to low sales (although it did provide some employment for local residents). In 1895, Captain Aiken founded the first cotton gin in Titusville which processed 100 pounds of cotton per day. By 1903 there were five stores operating in downtown Titusville with a total population of around 2,500 people; three of these stores were located on High Street between First and Second Streets (later renamed Main Street). In 1902 President Theodore Roosevelt made an trip to Florida and visited Titusville during his visit to State College where he met then Governor John Fenton Woodruff who impressed Roosevelt so much that he offered him a job as Secretary of Agriculture under Woodruff’s successor Grover Cleveland – this would be one of Roosevelt’s most memorable visits to America ever! It wasn’t until 1909 that Armour & Co., one of the country’s largest manufacturers began operations at what is now known as US Highway 92A off Highway 192A just north of downtown Titusville; this would set the stage for what would become Armour & Co.'s major business operation throughout southeast Florida through both World Wars! During World War I German U-boats attacked shipping lanes close to Porter Island Naval Station which resulted in over 40 ships sunk including eighteen merchant vessels totaling over 1 million gallons (4 million liters) lost overboard; however this didn't stop local businesses from continuing their normal business activities as many found new customers due to wartime shortages! In 1920 construction began on what is now known as Fort Myers Beach Boulevard which became one of Jacksonville's busiest thoroughfares with bituminous asphalt paving becoming popular for use on beaches during those days! After World War II ended hostilities ceased and several factories closure leaving rural Floridians without any significant manufacturing or agricultural industry - all excepting Armour & Co.'s beginnings within southeasternFlorida! However when Interstate 95 was completed bypassing south Orlando it completely destroyed much older infrastructure such as power plants along I-95 corridors resulting in very high unemployment rates especially among young men seeking employment outside their home communities... although today some small businesses have begun starting up again thanks to various economic development efforts initiated by city officials! This article does not cover everything that happened during or after WWII with events like Hurricane Andrew making landfall near Stonington Springs Lemmon Key Airport causing extensive damage causing almost total loss including homes, businesses and school sites; however since then different organizations have been formed such as Heritage Trust who has restored many old buildings within Downtown Stonington Springs while also restoring important historical documents related thereto; also other organizations such as Gulf Breeze Historical Society have been started up recently focusing more specifically upon Tampa Bay history rather than simply Polk County history
