Titusville, Florida is a city located in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 17,463 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hillsborough County and home to the University of South Florida. In addition to its namesake university and major industry, Titusville has become known for its annual Gun Show. The event attracts exhibitors from all over North America as well as countries around the world. The arming of citizens inFlorida began with shotguns in 1849. This method of self-defense was common enough that a law was passed requiring everyone over 21 years old to have a shotgun or rifle at all times on their property. Rifle clubs were also formed early on to teach firearms safety and shooting skills to locals. In 1872, an ordinance was passed allowing handguns only be possessed by those having a license from the state government or being employed by a bona fide law enforcement agency while carrying any other item such as an axe or knife without first obtaining a license from the same entity (the pistol licence). Pistol licences were not issued until 1907 when handgun ownership became general throughout the state. In 1922, pistols were made available for purchase through mail order directly from local dealers across the state which allowed for easier concealed carry than before due to advancements in manufacturing techniques during that time period! By 1934, handgun licenses had been re-authorized and pistol sales began through gun shows statewide! Sales continued until 1977 when it was determined that handguns no longer constituted “a serious threat” to public safety so they were placed into exempt status under federal law!! Gun Shows have always been an important part of Titusville's economy however they've also come with some controversies over who can bring what kind of weapons and where they can be carried! It's safe to say that Gun Shows are still one of our city's most popular events!

Titusville is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Hollywood metropolitan area. Titusville is located on US 192 (SR 522), about 12 miles (19 km) east of Kissimmee and 27 miles (43 km) north of Orlando. The name "Titusville" was given to the community by General James Hernando de Soto in 1763 when he explored the region for Spain. There were only four families living in Titusville at that time: those of Captain John Bradford and his family who had settled there in 1807, William Caudle and his family who had arrived from Georgia in 1853, and Joseph Atwood who had come from Connecticut in 1824. In 1875, J.C. Penney opened a store on Main Street which became one of the most important businesses in Titusville until it closed in 1984. In 1915, A&P grocery store opened its doors making Titusville one of the first towns outside of Jacksonville to have an A&P grocery store downtown

The town has been inhabited by white people since the 1800s. In 1925, it became part of Lake Alfred and remained that way until 1990 when it was transferred to Polk County. On January 1, 2007, Titusville became an unincorporated place within Polk County effective as of that date.
