Airguns were first introduced to Titusville by Cimarron Firearms Company which made rifles using air pistols as ammunition in 1892. In 1934, Browning firearms company opened a manufacturing plant in the town and began making revolvers using airguns as ammunition. The company closed its doors in 1984 but remnants of the factory remain today as Browning Arms Manufacturing Company Incorporated. Today, Airgun enthusiasts from all over the world come to visit this old manufacturing plant to buy guns or reloads with new air pistols that they have made themselves or purchased from local dealers.

The first settler in Titusville was George Witherspoon in 1853. The present day town was platted on November 15, 1907 by J.P. Morgan and other investors under the name "Bloomingdale". A post office called Bloomingdale was established in 1908, and remained in operation until 1959. On October 1, 1906, an act of Congress placed Polk County within a new county formed from parts of Hillsborough and Pasco counties named for General James Biddle Custer (1829-1900) following his death at Battle Creek during the Indian Wars fought between American Indians and Ulysses S Grant's forces over control of central Michigan Territory . On December 20th 1907 residents voted to change their name to Titusville after 9/11 attacks victim John Faltus . The ill-fated vote may have been due to Central Florida's reputation as being one of the most crime ridden areas in America at that time; however no fresh evidence suggests this occurred In 2009 there were plans for construction along US441 nears I-4 exit 173 known as "Titusville Square" with an idea to develop it into an oasis with plenty of shopping options

Titusville is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers to Titusville were farmers and their families who arrived in 1874 from Ohio. They built a small community on the east bank of the Stonington River which they named "Titusville". A post office was established in 1876, and by 1880 it had grown to include a school, store, harness shop and two churches. In 1886 a railway station was built and served as the town's focal point for transportation until 1925 when the US Coast Guard Station opened on the west side of Titusville Creek. In 1925 Titusville incorporated as a city under state law which made it one of several towns in Polk County that could be incorporation without prior approval from the county commissioners. In 1954 its citizens approved annexation by Tampa which gave Titusville new governance but kept its downtown core as an open-air shopping district known today as "The Square". The square has been home to many businesses including Sears Roebuck & Co., Quality Bicycles, Home Depot and Lowe's since then. In 1978 local resident Arturo Chavez founded Caribbean Horizons Inc., an international travel agency catering to expatriate visitors from Latin America and Caribbean countries who were visiting Tampa Bay area museums or attractions such as Veterans Memorial Coliseum or Hillsborough County Stadiums during this time period. After 10 years of growth he sold Caribbean Horizons to Pinnacle Airport Group LP for $290 million in 1997; following Pinnacle's bankruptcy in 2001 divestitures followed with assets being sold off into three other companies – Travelocity Airlines LP (2002), Key Air Cargo LLC (2003) and Air cargo services company Cargo Solutions Incorporated (2004). That year also saw construction begin on what would become known as Raymond James Stadium; originally designed with seating for up to 80,000 fans it became home to both THE Buccaneers football team (the original name) before becoming used primarily for baseball operations beginning play in 1999 after PSL Properties Group assumed management control of Raymond James Stadium through their acquisition of nearby stadium operator Joe Robbie Enterprises' interest therein; finally leaving Raymond James Stadium completely vacant during 2007-2009 Hurricane Ivan while still allowing events such as concerts/festivals there to take place.[1][2] On July 29th 2009 however parts of Raymond James Stadium collapsed due too much weight useage during Hurricane Ivan[3] resulting in some significant damage done to stadium including loss or destruction of century old signage, roofing along with game day infrastructure including scoreboards etc.;[4] subsequently demolition beganremove all remaining structure inside&outsideof stadium; total cost estimated at over $100 million denting south endzone concrete fieldTurf opens immediately adjacentto collapsed portionofstadiumpavedsurface:nearlycompleteremovaloffieldnoteupliftingofturfoverandnexttocollapsedportionofstadiummarkers
